CACI is looking for a Systems Administration Design Engineer to lead Software Maintenance Action (SWMA)  (e.g., scripting standard OS patch installs) for the Range, Communications, and Network segments that support the U.S. Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN). The SWMA team will also provide support to modification projects upgrading the server, storage, and networks supporting the U.S. Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN).  You will bring your advanced knowledge and experience to bear on the complex challenges confronting a critical national asset. You will have the opportunity to influence and inform customer design decisions, assist in planning for the long-range sustainment of AFSCN, implement agreed upon designs, and, when required, support operational issues.

 

What You’ll Get to Do:

 

Be responsible for designing and implementing changes to the client’s systems in accordance with project Statement of Objectives (SOO) and Statement of Work (SOW)

Create system and network designs that determine appropriate scale and scope of technical solutions and describe the impact of those changes

Coordinate closely with cybersecurity, networking, software, and test engineering teams

Maintain a close working relationship with client’s engineering staff

Validate formal requirements against project goals IAW INCOSE guidance and “Systems V” architecture

Create Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM), Bill of Materials (BOM), and Basis of Estimation (BOE)

Provide informational support to the Contractor Supported Weapons Systems (CSWS) logistics process to include Providing location data, nomenclature, and characterization for new and deleted equipment; Provide data for Sparing Analysis; Provide licensing guidance

Provide informational support to the Engineering Documentation Management process to include USAF Tech Order (T.O.) creation and modification

Patch management for the AFSCN mission systems

Troubleshoot Windows OS and Microsoft application security patch installations.

Create installation and rollback plans

Participate in proposal development in response to customer modification directionCo

Communicate clearly and concisely in voice, written word, and graphics to conduct formal milestone customer briefings

Install and configure systems at customer locations (approximately 25% currently anticipated)

Support installation teams from central operational locations.

Support collection efforts by authoring intelligence report evaluations, source-directed requirements, and/or assisting with the development or update of strategic and ad hoc collection requirements in support of DAF technology protection efforts.

Minimum Required Skills

 

Must have at least three (3) years of experience with collecting, evaluating and analyzing raw and processed intelligence reporting concerning threats to DOD technologies.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of counterintelligence functional services, collection, investigations, and operations.

Specific knowledge and at least one (1) year of experience conducting research across multiple acquisition and intelligence databases and networks such as, but not limited to CHROME, TAC, SAM, EDGAR, and Lexis Nexis to prepare foreign intelligence threat assessment reports for technology protection.

Must have at least three (3) years of experience working in the principles, concepts, and methodologies of intelligence analysis and research to include statistical methods; link, pattern and timeline analysis; and database manipulation. Must have at least one (1) year of demonstrated knowledge in the authorship of finished intelligence which adheres to DNI analytic tradecraft standards.

Must have at least three (3) years of experience using analytical software and presentation tools, such as Analyst Notebook, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe suite products. The contractor must be able to use these tools without extensive training.

Must have at least three (3) years of experience with the link analysis process, including the ability to make connections between foreign intelligence entities and operations.

Two (2) or more years of experience and judgment in planning and accomplishing work independently and/or part of a working group or team to provide time sensitive and quick responses to Requests for Information.

Ability to communicate effectively with others, both orally and in writing, in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work, writing clear and concise intelligence products, and delivering written and oral presentations.

Must be computer literate with working knowledge of creating relevant spreadsheets, graphics, mapping and network applications; word processing, the Internet and other computer software.

Must be able to demonstrate how research methods, statistical analysis, and mapping to produce relevant products.

Must have skills in: gathering, recording, and organizing data; identifying and using potential sources of data; determining appropriate visual presentations of statistics or factual data; developing effective data collection procedure; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; maintaining accurate detailed records.

Minimum Required Qualifications

 

At least five (5) years of experience in analyzing intelligence and at least two (2) years of experience in analyzing threats to Research, Development, and Acquisition (RDA), Supply Chain Risk Management (SCRM), or other technology focused subject.

Bachelor's Degree related to Engineering, Political Science, or Intelligence Analysis; or an equivalency of nine years’ (9) experience as an intelligence analyst.

Experience with intelligence information and data collection, analysis and integration with other all-source intelligence information, to include experience writing finished intelligence which adheres to DNI analytic tradecraft standards.

Experience with the OSI, Naval Criminal Investigative Services, Defense Intelligence Agency Office of Counterintelligence, or other counterintelligence unit is preferred.

Ability to conceptualize, design, develop, execute and animate high-end design projects.

Demonstrated skill in design software applications such as Adobe Master Collection CS6 (Photoshop, illustrator, Premier, and After Effects), Autodesk, Maya, Mudbox, Motion Builder, and Smith Micro (Poser 10), and Portrait Pro.

Must be able to maintain a clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Be part of a IT team responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise system architecture to include associated geospatial databases, network equipment and software tools and applications. The team performs complex analysis, design and modification of GIS applications and databases and evaluation of new GIS hardware and software.

Be required to maintain the enterprise systems architecture to include effective installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the architecture. 

Serve as the face of the IT team with the end user to assist in the troubleshooting, maintenance, and development of solutions to meet the end user’s requirements. 

Technologies supported include ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, SOCET GXP, OpenGeo Software Suite, Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, NetApp Storage Solutions, VMWare, and Linux server software.

Experience and knowledge will be vital to system architecture backup and recovery plans, the implementation of security 4.5.2 protocols and patches, the monitoring of system health and loading and the administration of multiple servers, databases and storage solutions.

Requirements:

 

Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance

Must meet the requirements of DCID 6/4

Ability to perform installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of systems within the enterprise GIS architecture

5+ years of progressive experience performing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software required for MS and LINUX operating systems

2+ years of experience within the past three years Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Active Directory, VMWare, Linux server software, and have knowledge on network storage

Shall be proficient in administering and deploying geospatial applications and intelligence related automation to support analytical efforts and product development

Shall be proficient in administering and deploying enterprise level open source and commercial of the shelf (COTS) GIS server equipment in support of Intelligence organizations

Required to obtain and maintain currency of the appropriate level certification in accordance with DODD 8570.01

Preferred:

 

Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of additional experience supporting special operations automated desktop processing (ADP) management. Additional years  of experience in the fields of intelligence systems architecture and geospatial systems experience are highly desirable
