CACI is seeking a Global Command and Control System - Joint (GCCS-J) System Engineer contingent hire for the Shared Early Warning System 3 contract.

 

The SEWS3 Global Command and Control System - Joint (GCCS-J) System Engineer provides engineering and program technical execution activities for maintenance, sustainment, technology refresh efforts, training, software fixes, system upgrades and modifications related to GCCS for SEWS3 customers. The GCCS-J System Engineer will perform detailed planning, thorough preparation and careful coordination between contractor staff, the SEWS Program Office, and the Combatant Commands (CCMD)/Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers for all support activities.

 

What You’ll Get to Do:

As the SEWS3 GCCS-J Engineer you will be required to do local and foreign travel, four or more trips per year (~ 50% travel). You will perform as a member of the SEWS team and participate in the configuration and implementation of the SEWS GCCS-J software and systems, GCCS-J courseware development, providing SEWS specific GCCS-J Operator training to US and FMS personnel, as well as system support to the local Colorado Springs, NATO, and various supported FMS locations.

 

Major duties of the position include (but are not limited to):

 

Performing as a SEWS3 GCCS-J technical expert

Collaborating with SEWS contractor and government personnel to plan OM&S trips and stay apprised of Theater issues

Assisting with the design and analysis of user needs and associated hardware and software recommendations

Performing system support for remote users to identify and resolve hardware, software, and communication issues, document solutions, and develop recommendations to reduce the frequency of repairs

Responding to system outages to ensure issues are resolved per contract requirements

Providing Tier II maintenance support for system / equipment issues

Supporting Emergency On-Site Sustainment (EOSS) travel to customer locations as required

Planning, developing and conducting GCCS-J Familiarization Training for CCMD and FMS customers

Providing refresher training for existing staff as well as training for new operators

Utilizing engineering skills to research, develop, test, and document solutions for Research & Test (R&T) activities

RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration experience (RHEL 6 and 8 preferred)

Windows Server and Client administration experience (Windows 2012 R2/2016/10 preferred)

Job Description

Emerging Technology Support (ETS) is comprised of a diverse array of

technical experts and skilled practitioners providing operations support,

formal training, certification, and research and development consultancy to

all echelons of the Defense, Intelligence, and Law Enforcement Communities.

We are seeking a highly motivated and adept professional to join our

Northern Virginia based operation.

The Advanced Technical Instructor's primary role is to conduct classroom,

vehicle, and scenario-based training . The instructor's responsibilities

primarily include all aspects of instruction and the learning experience of

students. Additionally, the instructor may also function concurrently as the

program coordinator or as a content-creator/curriculum-developer.

Instructors will collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and clients to

design, develop, deliver, evaluate, and modify courses. ETS Instructors will

also provide on-going support to other instructors, as well as to students

both past and present. Instructors should expect to provide a learning

experience via online, hybrid, and traditional delivery methods. Instructors

should have a general understanding of academic goals and pedagogy, as well

as promote the awareness of new learning opportunities available to clients

through ETS. Instructors can expect to travel at least 25% of the time,

annually.

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

4+ years military experience in an intelligence focused MOS

2+ years experience with basic Computer Operations, Computer Networking,

WiFi and Linux

Knowledgeable on radio frequency theory, antenna theory, and tactical

antenna construction

Experience and knowledge of cellular communications protocols

Experience with WiFi Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and Open-Source tools

Experience with cellular based Government-off-the-shelf, COTS, and

Open-Source tools

Must have understanding of technical collection, exploitation, and

geolocation to include the targeting process

Proficient with the Windows 7/10 OS and Microsoft Office products

Proficient with the Linux OS

Experience preparing and delivering classroom instruction

Ability to rapidly learn how to use new software and equipment

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication

skills for working in a team environment

High school diploma

Valid driver's license

Active TS Clearance

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Cyber Security,

Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field

Basic Instructor Certification; TRADOC or equivalent Basic Instructor

Training Course

Minimum of one industry-standard computer or network certification

(Network+, Security+, A+, Linux+)

Current T&C operator/instructor certifications for Modes 1-3, 5, & 6

Amateur Extra Class HAM Certification

Ability to work independently, take initiative and set priorities with

multiple projects

High School Diploma
