3. To All Space System Subject Matter Experts,
Proteus Solutions / TechStart has teamed with a proposal writing company that has extensive expertise in the air and ground military arenas, but is now looking to expand their presence the space sector. They have been approached by space system-focused primes to support capture efforts for future space system contracts. Due to our ten years of experience in this market, the proposal company has asked Proteus Solutions / TechStart to lead the recruitment of space system experts.
As a SME, if selected for a proposal team, each individual would work during the multi-week effort without commitment to signing onto the contract when the prime wins. On the other hand, if the SMEs that work on the proposal are interested, they can ask to be on the team that executes the contract.
In other words, anyone selected for a proposal writing team could earn money on the front end AND on the back end of the activity. [The determination of which SME(s)—if any—will be brought onto the contract will be made by the customer (prime).]
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS: The proposal team efforts ARE NOT contingency offers. They are salary paying positions (market-rate hourly pay, including expenses, during a multi-week stint). SMEs must be available to consult on site at the customer’s location(s). SMEs will NOT be employees of Proteus Solutions / TechStart or the proposal company. There are NO BENEFITS, the SME is expected to have their own corporate identity and will be signed on as an independent contractor for the duration of the proposal activity portion. SMEs will be responsible for all legal and financial responsibilities levied by the government (income tax withholding, unemployment, benefits, etc.) Therefore, we encourage consultants, space system (military or civilian) retirees or part-timers to submit resumes and wage requirements.
REMEMBER: There is no guaranteed work as the customer company must approve the SME.
NEXT STEPSFOR THOSE INTERESTED: If you or someone you know are interested in doing this kind of work (part- or full- time), PLEASE SEND YOUR RESUME (TWO VERSIONS, ONE WITH YOUR FULL CONTACT INFORMATION AND ONE "SANITIZED" OF ALL PERSONAL / CONTACT INFORMATION) AND WAGE “DESIREMENTS” TO SME@TECHSTARTLLC.COM ASAP.
The first proposal project assignment will start in the very near future (two-four weeks) and, as mentioned above, may require travel depending on the location of the prime and / or the SME.
CURRENT SME REQUIREMENTS: We're in urgent need of SPACE SYSTEM Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to assist in writing the proposals now and into the foreseeable future. We have all the required proposal writing expertise, however we need technical experts in various space system disciplines.
SME Topics include ground, bus and payload system expertise in the following areas:
GPS and GPS Ops Center
DMSP – Defense Meteorological Satellite Program
SATCOM: MILSTAR, Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS III), Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) and Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite operations support
Space Logistics & Maintenance Systems
Launch and Range Support
MAJCOM Communications Coordination Center (MCCC)
Air Force Satellite Control Network (AFSCN)
Early Warning Radar (BMEWS, PAVE PAWS, etc.)
