As a Water Pipefitter, you will be part of the Water Construction and Maintenance team dedicated to the reliable and safe operation of our water distribution system and the physical assets used to deliver water to Colorado Springs Utilities’ customers. These assets include water mains, valves, stop boxes, service lines, manholes, curb stops, and hydrants. As a pipefitter you will perform water pipeline installations and maintenance, maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used, and ensure that underground utilities have been located properly, barricades are properly placed, and that our employees and contractors are working in a safe environment.
Starting pay for a Water Pipefitter is $32.81/hr. Once you have completed probation (typically 6 months) your pay will increase to $34.45/hr (single-pay rate).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to…
Connecting and inspecting water mains and service lines
Safe handling of water main/service lines
Obtaining and Maintaining Operator Qualifications
Locates underground pipelines and utilities
Inspects the condition of existing pipes for cathodic protection
Operates leak detection equipment; identifies the exact location of leaks; classifies leaks
Taps low- and high-pressure pipelines
Reads and complies with blueprints and specifications for projects
Responds to emergency situations involving water mains and service lines, worksites, including placement of safety signs and ensuring traffic has been rerouted
Operates and performs maintenance on equipment and vehicles, including leak detection devices, stopping, and tapping equipment, heavy equipment, and hand/power tools
Working overtime, weekends, holidays, and 24-hour callouts is required as business needs demand
Qualifications…
Must have successfully completed a Water Pipefitter Apprenticeship (DOL or NDOL); or offer a minimum of four (4) years of experience installing and repairing water mains and service lines. Pipefitters trained outside of a formal training/apprenticeship program must demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities commensurate with current journey pipefitters at Colorado Springs Utilities.
A Colorado Level III Water Distribution Certification is required to be obtained within 3 years of hire
A valid Colorado Driver’s License is required
Class A Commercial Driver's license with airbrake endorsement is required at the time of hire or must be obtained within a year of hire
Additionally, a Water Pipefitter will exhibit the following…
Technically proficient with tools and equipment used in the trade
Skilled in the installation and maintenance, and troubleshooting of water mains, hydrants, and service lines for the water distribution system
Demonstrate sound judgment and provide technical leadership and guidance to apprentices and crew members
Distribution main installation, excavation, and compaction standards knowledge required
Water services line material knowledge required
Tapping water mains (PVC, DIP and CIP)
Basic cathodic protection background or experience preferred
Knowledge of safety procedures, trenching, shoring, etc.
Leak search experience preferred

Software Test Engineer Responsibilities:
· Reviewing software requirements, design specifications, and / or concept sketches to establish baseline understanding of the development effort.
· Meeting with development managers to discuss software specifications and controls.
· Using the software as customers would to analyze its functional properties.
· Designing/Updating manual and automated test procedures to evaluate each software product.
· Running test programs to ensure that testing protocols evaluate the software correctly.
· Tweaking the software testing systems for maximum performance.
· Finalizing and documenting testing procedures, all technical issues discovered, along with any recommended solutions.
· Completing final tests and creating test reports in a timely manner to meet desired release deadlines.
· Presenting test reports to management and suggesting software fixes where appropriate.

How Will You Make an Impact?
As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding and custom fabrication, including design layout, custom metal fabrication, retro-fitting equipment, and facilitating repairs in a job shop environment. You will also design, fabricate, and modify parts to make or repair specialized vehicles and equipment by applying knowledge of mechanics, custom fabrication, metal properties, layout, welding, and machining procedures. Nature of the work:

Who You Are...The ideal candidate will come with significant industry experience and the demonstrated expertise to lead and mentor multiple supervisors and teams and be the subject matter expert in industry and institutional knowledge for the water and wastewater infrastructure planning teams. It will be expected to understand and anticipate new technologies, industry trends and new regulations affecting water and wastewater services and will need to have an awareness of local, state, regional and national trends affecting the industry. Additionally, a bachelor’s degree in a related Engineering field is required and a PE (Professional Engineer) is preferred.

Overview
Wireless Network Engineers in a Wireless LAN environment, create drawings, and perform installations and ongoing maintenance in support of the customers’ networking requirements. Their role is to provide technical support for customer and/or internal wireless LAN network operations, maintenance and security implementations. Wireless Engineers will work closely with USARCC-SWA, Network Operations Team (NETOPS), Network Engineers and other vendors to provide strategies around security, authentication, controller redundancy, and load balancing. They will mainly use Aruba Networks 802.11 wireless access points using technologies such as: IEEE802.11ac, multi-user MIMO, IEEE802.11r fast roaming, wireless IDS/IPS, location services, spectrum intelligence, Aruba’s Adaptive Radio Resource Management (ARM) and optimizations for high-density video streaming applications. This position reports to the Site Manager.
Responsibilities
Operates and maintains (O&M) the Aruba ClearPass Policy Server and the Aruba AirWave Wireless Intrusion Detection System.
Deploys, troubleshoots, and maintains a large-scale wireless LAN and remote network solution.
Implement user policies, troubleshoot, and maintain the entire Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) infrastructure.
Provides recommendations for network architecture and optimization for wireless and mobility technology.
Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the maintenance, planning, assessment, and application of the wireless network architecture when required.
Provides escalation support for wireless infrastructure, to include providing recommendations and identifying and tracking necessary corrective actions to ensure optimal wireless network performance.
Executes Proof of Concept, Proof of Technology, and Pilot activities in support of rationalizing technologies that provide value to the Government.
Facilitates a migration path toward an Aruba wireless architecture.
Assists with designing and deploying next generation wireless functionality with ClearPass Policy Manager Platform for authentication, bring your own device (BYOD) onboarding, and security roles in conjunction with controller firewall security enforcement.
Serves as a technical resource for the Network Operations Team to provide solutions to complex hardware and software issues.
With prior approval from the COR, provides training to Network Operations staff members.
Complies with Army Best Business Practices (BBP): 09-EC-M-0010 Wireless Security Standards, Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Wireless Security Guidance and National Security Agency (NSA) VLAN and wireless requirements.
Provides technical support for multi-vendor wireless LAN technologies, including root cause analysis and permanent resolution.
Validates RF link performance, quality and reliability.
Uses measuring and diagnostic tools such as wireless packet captures, AirMagnet Wi-Fi Analyzer, AirMagnet spectrum analyzer, and AirWave Management System to aid in the troubleshooting process and problem resolution efforts.
Establishes documentation standards and practices for wireless LAN networks.
Create manuals and support documentation.
Processes requests from internal ticketing systems.
Provides support for compliance initiatives i.e. CCRI.
Monitors network equipment.
Responds to inquiries regarding data and computer security, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
At least seven (5) years direct experience with enterprise level wireless LAN support and technologies in a multi-vendor environment (Cisco and Aruba, etc.)
The Wireless Network Engineer is required to be an expert in all functions of both IAT Level I and IAT Level II positions relating to DoD Wireless Networks.
The Wireless Network Engineer must be able to apply extensive knowledge of a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures to ensure the secure integration and operation of all enclave (NIPR, SIPR, etc…) systems.
Must be able to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals for the enclave environment.
Certifications:
This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD 8570.01-M. All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. For this position title, the Aruba Certified ClearPass Professional (ACCP) is sufficient for the CE certification. Additional CEs are outlined below, but are NOT required for this position. The authorized certifications for this job title are listed as follows:

Working Environment
Working environment will be 95% office environment/indoors, 5% outside. Individual should be able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted. The environment exposes you to moderate noise levels due to cooling and other equipment. The outside work environment will be very hot due to conditions within the region in.
