CDA seeks a Project Manager (PM) to manage a Navy DoD contract. The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Position: PAO Mentor / SME
Location: Afghanistan
Responsibilities: Assist the MoD to develop an effective media relations program which includes both an effective community relations program and an effective command information program. Train, advise, and coach the MoD Public Affairs office to ensure accomplishment of the following tasks:
• Assess the MoD Public Affairs with respect to the requirements of this goal, gain concurrence of the assessment from the MoD PAO Director
• Train, advise, and coach the MoD Public Affairs in developing and publishing a CM1-level annual media relations plan, developing effective relationships with Afghan and international media, gaining and facilitating embedded journalists, writing and releasing news releases with command messages, conduct press conferences / media engagements, and respond to media queries.
Mentor Qualifications:
- Former Officer O4-O6 or Command Sergeant Major with Battalion or Brigade Staff experience as either CSM, XO, S3 or other primary staff responsible for training and doctrine development or maintenance support operations.
- At least 15 years direct experience in functional area.
- Recent operational experience in Afghanistan or Iraq training international forces is highly desired.
- Bachelor's degree in associated field with 8-10 years experience is required, Master's degree desired.
- Command experience at the O5 level (Squadron, Battalion or higher) is desired.
-Clearance: Minimum Secret
SME Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or educational equivalent, Masters is desired
- Extensive SME experience in functional area
- Military experience
- Overseas deployments
- Project/program management and professional experience
- Experience working with Middle Eastern / Asian cultures is desired
- Recent operational experience training Afghan/Iraqi forces is desired
