The Field Technician applies electrical and/or mechanical expertise to assist in troubleshooting systems related to Rolling Stock
Equipment. Offers technical guidance and determines best course of actions as it pertains to Repeat/Bad Actor scenarios. Assist in
training of system specific troubleshooting skills to technical staff.
Essential Functions:
• Assist in the diagnoses of electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic system malfunctions or failures of the control equipment
and its components using knowledge of equipment, technical manuals, and troubleshooting instruments.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions related to the equipment and proposes solutions to avoid future failures by working with the
Rollingstock Engineering Department.
• Documents malfunctions related to Repeat/Bad Actors utilizing WMS work orders to track and disseminate Actions Taken.
• Consistently locate and use appropriate technical data when performing all maintenance activities.
• May ride trains as required to determine en-route performance of control/mechanical systems and to assess dynamic
state of system repairs
Minimum Qualifications:
• Degree in Engineering, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Duty Description:
The Sniper Instructor Mentor will provide training to National Mission Units (NMU) personnel in support of the Special Police Advanced Training Wing (SPATW)—Phase III police training. As required, provide Mobile Training Team (MTT) support to the General Command of Police Special Units (GCPSU) Headquarters, Police Special Units (PSU), the Special Police Training Center (SPTC)—Phase I police training, and the Special Police Training Wing (SPTW)—Phase II police training. Augment team members in support of para-military/police training as required and directed by the SPATW Team Lead. Coordinate with SPATW Special Operations Advisor Team (SOAT) military mentors for required police sniper training. Provide all reporting and documentation requirements to the SPATW team leader. Conduct Instructor Training Certification (ITC) Courses and Train-the-Trainer (T3) classes to allow the GCPSU to conduct “Afghan in the lead” police training by the year 2020.
Required Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training sixty hours (60) per week while OCONUS.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Provide sniper training to NMU personnel in support of the SPATW—Phase III police training.
