Utility Worker II (Wastewater Collections)
Wastewater Collections is looking to hire a Utility Worker II in the Wastewater Operations Group. In this job, you will carry out routine maintenance supporting construction, repair, and maintenance projects. This requires the ability to perform manual labor, which includes heavy lifting, shoveling, and working in various types of weather, and performing basic duties while utilizing general construction operations knowledge.
This position will start at $26.58/hr and move to $27.91/hr after the employee completes probation (typically 6 months).
Please note: As business needs dictate, working overtime, weekends, holidays, and 24-hour call-out will be required.
Key Areas of Focus for this role:
Assisting in the construction, repair, and maintenance of water and wastewater systems
Using hand-operated and electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic power tools to assist with landscape construction and maintenance projects
Gathering equipment and parts to complete daily tasks
Opportunity to rotate between water, wastewater, and support services work groups
Leveraging knowledge of and adhering to construction site and traffic safety procedures, general construction principles, barricading principles, and corrosion principles
Operating Colorado Springs Utilities vehicles
Employees will be working in high-traffic areas and required to adhere to appropriate safety practices and understanding of barricading principles is valued
Maintaining and updating records about daily tasks
Attending safety and training courses
Who You Are...
Relevant and progressively responsible experience in a construction environment
Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license
Possession of a valid CDL Class B or higher is preferred, but not required
Knowledge and skills in any of the following are valued:
General construction principles
Basic mathematics
General knowledge of blueprints, schematics, and mechanics
Operating equipment such as utility trailers, wastewater maintenance equipment, asphalt rollers, jackhammers, and various pneumatic hand tools

Professional Support Services program.
PMS 408 requires services to support the research, development,

*Responsibilities *
Collect, review, and analyze information in order to make
recommendations to the Government. Define the nature and extent of
problems. Analyze relevant data, which may include annual revenues,
employment, cost performance, schedule or expenditures. Interview
managers and employees while observing their operations. Develop
solutions to problems. In the course of preparing recommendations,
understand the nature of the organization, the relationship it has with
others in the Government, and its internal organization and culture.
Prepare and solve mathematical models. Report findings and
recommendations to the Government. Reports are usually submitted in
writing, but oral presentations regarding findings also are common. For
some projects, management analysts are retained to help implement the
suggestions they have made.

**Overview**
SOSi is seeking an experienced Engineer Technician. The selected
candidate is to perform project planning, analysis, engineering, and
AUTOCAD design assignments independently, supporting a Facilities
Management and Maintenance Support Services contract at MacDill AFB, FL.
*Essential Job Duties*
* Develop detailed 2D or 3D designs plans, surface and solid models,
and inputting design specifications utilizing Computer Aided Design
(CAD) software.
* Respond to a variety of client technical inquiries, meeting with
engineers and designers to review blueprints and design drawings.
* Review CAD models submitted by construction and subcontractors with
the client, make minor adjustments and submit final product.
* Develop MS Project Gant charts at various levels of complexity
tracking multiple projects.
* Prepare site surveys, project planning, and prepare work statements,
specifications, design documents, and cost estimates.
* Perform life cycle cradle to grave project management as appropriate

*Essential Job Duties*
* Responsible for the readiness of updated fire alarm and suppression
systems in commercial and residential type buildings.
* Responsible for performing inspections, test alarms, troubleshoot

Colorado Springs Utilities is expanding the Procurement Department and is excited to announce new positions for a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist. Are you looking to join an elevated team that supports a wide range of projects? Are you skilled in contracts, negotiations, and management of solicitations? Are you able to provide high-level service to stakeholders? This opportunity may be the perfect fit for you. Our Procurement Services team is hiring Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialists to support our medium to high-risk strategic sourcing efforts, timing, and impact of contracting and purchasing functions. Our team is responsible for creating, managing, and renewing contracts, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), reviewing Statements of Work (SOWs), and working with suppliers to negotiate terms for goods and services to support the goals of Colorado Springs Utilities. In this role, you will establish, manage, and enhance relationships with our strategic business customers.
This position differs from the Buyer positions in that the incumbents are responsible for the purchasing of goods and services, leveraging pre-negotiated and executed agreements, along ensuring on-time delivery of such goods for the organization. Versus Senior Sourcing Specialists who are called upon to facilitate making awards requiring expert judgment based on a firm foundation of experience and training along with negotiation and management of contract agreements.

We are hiring a Utility Worker II to support our Raw Water Operations team. In this job you will be responsible for maintaining over 20 Dams annually by removing vegetation, performing erosion control, rodent control, and removing debris to improve the reliability and safety of our infrastructure and water transmission system. As a Utility Worker, you will spend your days working in different beautiful, remote locations, performing skilled labor activities to maintain Colorado Springs Utilities' dams.
Starting pay rate for a Utility Worker II is $26.58/hr. Your pay rate, upon completing probation (typically 6 months), will increase to a single pay rate, which is currently $27.91/hr.
How you’ll spend your time…
Removing vegetation growth from dams
Operating weed eaters/ mowers and troubleshooting grounds-keeping equipment
Performing work in remote locations
Managing time, projects, and activities, while working with a small crew
Meeting Dam inspection schedules and criteria
Qualifications…
A valid Driver’s License is required
Maintaining cooperative working relationships in a team environment
Basic computer skills
Using hand tools/mechanical knowledge
Operating specialized equipment and vehicles
Experience in groundskeeping is preferred
Great communication skills are a must

Gas Pipeline Welder (Temporary)
Please note that this is a Temporary position to support special gas projects. This position will last no longer than twenty-four (24) months with an anticipated working schedule of approximately 12-14 hours per week.
Colorado Springs Utilities' Machine Weld Shop is seeking a Pipeline Welder to perform welding and fabrication of natural gas pipeline components, meter and regulator sets, in-service repairs of pipelines, and in-service branch welds to include adding new services to existing pipelines, custom metal fabrication, retro-fitting equipment and facilitating repairs in a job shop environment. You will have the opportunity to design, fabricate, and modify parts to make or repair specialized vehicles and equipment by applying knowledge of mechanics, custom fabrication, metal properties, layout, and welding procedures. You will also develop, design, and create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, and products through welding and custom fabrication.
A day in the life of a Pipeline Welder may include:
Performing welds on gas pipelines, regulation equipment above and below ground, and meter installations
Fabricating pipe fittings, valves, assemblies, and gas meter installations
Repairing and maintaining welding on construction equipment and special tools and equipment specific to the gas industry
Ensuring proper working condition of equipment by maintaining shop and field tools
Who You Are
Demonstrated experience in fabrication and welding to include SMAW, GTAW, and GMAW
API 1104 Gas Pipeline Welder with CPWI is required
D1.1 certification is preferred, or ability to obtain within six (6) months
Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required
Ability to custom fabricate, including parts layout, design and production using shop equipment including metal break and shear, plasma cutting table, band saws and plate rollers
Proficiency with instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances for layout
Ability to support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties and mathematics
