Southeastern Regional Associate - Hiring Our Heroes (HOH)

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Veterans Employment Center

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Incumbent is responsible for coordinating the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's
Hiring Our Heroes hiring fairs in the U.S. Chamber's Southeastern Region,
which includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Tennessee, Virginia, and Mississippi. Areas of responsibility include
coordinating 10-13 hiring fairs per quarter within this region; identifying
and partnering with local partners; and, supporting the overall objectives
of the Chamber and the objectives of the Southeastern Regional Office.

. Hiring Our Heroes Events: In coordination with HOH leadership, the
U.S. Chamber's Southeastern Regional Director, and local chambers of
commerce, the incumbent will plan and execute Hiring Our Heroes hiring fairs
throughout the Southeastern Region. These duties may include, but not be
limited to:
o Determine and work with partners from public, private, non-profit,
and military sectors for each event
o Conduct appropriate outreach and coordinate with event partners for
each event
o Manage registration website for all HOH-led events
o Prepare budget for each event
o Coordinate date and venue selection for each event
o Develop marketing materials for each event
o Support or directly manage and supervise contractors, caterers, and
other staff where appropriate
o Help select keynote speakers and create program agenda
o Market event to job-seekers and employers
o Coordinate media coverage before, during, and following each event
o Coordinate volunteers to help prepare end manage events
o Set up weekly calls and create agenda for event calls
o Coordinate and help recruit volunteers for events and create a
volunteer duties roster
o Coordinate "day-of" logistics on site with event partners
o Represent the Chamber and HOH Program at events
o Create and distribute employer and job-seeker packets for each event

o Create flyers and programs

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

Incumbent will report operationally to the Director of Events at the U.S.
Chamber of Commerce, Veterans Employment Center (Hiring Our Heroes).
Incumbent will coordinate with the Regional Director of the U.S. Chamber of
Commerce's Southeastern Region. Incumbent is expected to work
collaboratively with other team-members to exercise sound judgment in making
and executing decisions, to demonstrate initiative in carrying out
responsibilities and to keep the Senior Regional Associate and Executive
Director informed of plans, progress and results.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; strong verbal,
written communication, and presentation skills; creativity; the ability to
be a self-starter and problem-solver; the ability to travel; computer
proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).

Specific Duties: Actively involved in outreach activities focused on planning and coordinating processes with the regions, state and local governments and other federal agencies to improve operational response readiness. Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction.

Work involves: replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.

Description: Seeking a highly motivated individual to perform duties as
Training Systems Specialist at a U.S Navy shore training command in

Tasking:

* Provide network communications technical and engineering support
in establishing and maintaining synthetic training system connectivity

circuits and associated crypto devices.
* Provide technical assistance to shipboard and shore network
personnel in identifying, trouble shooting and resolving any NCTE KG-175D
key issues and in the installation of KG-175D key material.
* Conduct shipboard site surveys to identify FST equipment
installation requirements and review/provide feedback on Government
furnished FST installation drawings.
* Carry out the proper installation, removal/retrieval and packing
of the FST equipment for post exercise extraction and shipment, including
zeroizing the KG-175D and conducting approved fabrication of required
interface cabling for proper FST equipment installation.
* Develop/update shipboard site survey guidance, identifying
potential problems, solutions and implications of installing additional
equipment for training support.
* Maintain proficiency in ITN/RITSC interface connections in order
to be able to restore pier/berth NCTE patching if RITSC personnel are not
immediately available.
* Create simplified drawings of NCTE connectivity to RITSC network,
ITN/RITSC interface connections and ship BFTT connectivity.
* Provide input/develop exercise related pre and post-event
documentation and monthly status reports.
* Be prepared to perform collateral/alternate duties (i.e.,
Communications Material Security (CMS) User, Terminal Area Security Officer

Education: An undergraduate degreefrom an accredited college or university

Diego CA. The candidate will be assigned as a Tactical Data Link Systems
Engineer in the Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Group supporting the
planning and execution of the Test and Evaluation program with focus on
Tactical Data Link systems.

Requirements:

Ten years' experience in first five areas described below. Candidate must
possess active security clearance eligibility.

* Subject matter expertise in U.S. Navy C5I systems applicable to
Navy shipboard Combat Systems, Tactical Data Links, Computer Networks, and
associated satellite communications equipment.
* Subject matter expertise in shipboard and Ashore Command and

Engineer/Systems Engineer in support of the Joint Warning and Reporting

JPM-IS is the only San Diego-based Program Office for the Joint Program

* Must provide oversight, and coordination of all current program
execution involving the areas of systems engineering, architecture (both
service-oriented and distributed) and embedded software engineering.

software support facility, help desk, training and deployment),
configuration management, quality assurance, lab operations, and integration
