Position Description:


The candidate will be a motivated team player to work with subject matter experts and other spectral scientists on an R&D team that performs experiments and field collections, and then processes and analyzes the data, as well as working R&D issues in support of imagery analysts and operations.

The scientist will use hyperspectral imaging techniques (HSI) and applications to solve remote sensing problems and identify processes that indicate the presence of foreign industrial and military production facilities and substances indicative of illicit activities.

The candidate will be expected to function with minimal supervision and demonstrate ingenuity to achieve objectives. The candidate will function in a multi-contractor team of spectral scientists and subject matter experts and interact daily with the customer management.

Deployment to hazardous duty areas may be required.
Experience Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Physics, Math, Engineering or related Scientific field such as Geography or Remote Sensing, and 10-12 years of related scientific experience. With an MS degree, 6-8 years of experience is required.

The candidate should be knowledgeable about hyperspectral imagery (HSI) phenomenology and exploitation of HSI data with detailed knowledge of the image formation processing chain. In addition, the individual should be knowledgeable about existing HSI tools used in the HSI community and should have experience developing advanced signal processing algorithms for HSI exploitation.

Candidate must be familiar with geospatial tools such as: ENVI/IDL, ESRI ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, and knowledgeable about remote sensing, sensor systems, and collection parameters.

Familiarity with Matlab and C/C++ and ability to code is highly desired; ability to program algorithms a plus. Experience with spectral exploitation in Department of Defense/Intelligence community programs is strongly preferred. Ideally, successful applicants will have presented papers at classified technical forums or un-classified conferences such as SPIE.

Cost Proposal Contracts Supervisor - 355015

Provide cost proposal development oversight and act as a liaison between the
contracts coordinators and the specification writers, NMD estimators, labor
estimators, material estimators, the subcontracts department and program
finance. Responsibilities will include working on behalf of the contracts
coordinators to support and interface with these departments to gather and
fine tune the variety of estimating elements into one combined and detailed
cost proposal including all supporting documentation, historical details,
rationale for basis of estimate and overtime. Cost proposals will need to
include all checklists that meet the requirements of the government
customer: administrative contracting officer’s (ACO’s), technical advisory
report (TAR), and the DCAA as well as BAE Systems own internal policies and
procedures. Responsibilities will also include coordinating strategy, PMO
and target cost reviews with the estimating supervisor as well as assisting
the contracts coordinators with ACO, TAR, DCAA, SWRMC, and NAVSEA
negotiations through definitization. Bachelor’s degree in business and or
financial management required. Completion of a Certified Contract
Management Program preferred. A complete understanding of BAE Systems San
Diego Ship Repair’s estimating systems and processes from bottom to top
including NMD, material, labor, and subcontracts. Minimum of 5 years
experience required.




Environmental Coordinator - 354701


Assist in the implementation and maintenance of programs for compliance with
applicable local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the
environment. Act as liaison with local, state, and federal agencies such as
DEH, APCD, MIWP, RWQCB, SWRCB, EPA, Coast Guard, and US Navy. Manage
chemical inventory for the facility and all subcontractors, including
approving the use of new chemicals. Maintain hazardous material business
plans for the facility. Conduct inspections related to Best Management
Practices (BMPs) implemented at the facility. Keep records for data
associated with regulatory permits and company policies and procedures.
Maintenance of records associated with local, state, and federal laws and
regulations. Communicate daily with BAE Systems employees, vendors,
subcontractors, and Navy personnel on environmental issues related to
production activities associated with ship repair and maintenance.
Investigate spills, illicit discharges, and other environmental
discrepancies and prepare required reports as per state and federal
regulations and customer requirements. Minimum of two years experience
working with environmental regulations. Experience involving environmental
aspects of manufacturing/industrial operations preferred. Four year degree
in Environmental Studies, Technology, Engineering or Natural Science, such
as Biology or Chemistry required. Commensurate knowledge or additional
experience may be demonstrated in lieu of a four year degree.

Primary activities related to characterization (including sampling and
analysis), storage, inspection, labeling, and shipping of hazardous
waste/materials. Individual must be able to identify and implement
hazardous waste generator regulations in a shipyard/industrial setting.
Duties conducted on-site and off-site. Some forklift operation required.
Individual must possess sufficient computer competencies to manage
information electronically. Sufficient knowledge of environmental
engineering and chemistry as it relates to hazardous waste/materials safety.

Post Marine Chemist Certificates and corresponding OSHA forms onboard ships
prior to commencement of hot work. Visually inspect and test each space
certified by a Marine Chemist daily and more often as necessary to ensure

This position is responsible for the full life-cycle of the Special Government Services program management, recruitment activities and administrative services. Will be responsible for the full life-cycle of recruitment activities, including reviewing job requisitions, sourcing and screening resumes, interviewing applicants, and consulting with Program Managers to make the best hiring decisions. The candidate must have a strong track record of consistency and show a very strong work ethic and self-discipline. Responsibilities will include:

Recruiting:
Collecting D214’s, Resume’s, and other pertinent paperwork of interested individuals, collecting their paperwork and passing it along to the Recruiting department for review and eventual submission to the Client
Track candidate’s info. in an excel database.
Source and pre-screen qualified applicants.
Conduct reference checks.
Work within corporate structure to make sure all hiring procedures are followed properly, including review of job requisitions.

Contacting Contractors prior to scheduled deployment to alert of paperwork needed prior to deployment, and to verify travel arrangements
Database Management:
Maintaining large elaborate IC database of personal and training information for each contractor that SOC interact with (updating with daily changes and contractor updates in information)
Maintaining expiration dates of the following Client documentation:
Dip Passports
CAC Cards
Visa Applications to Multiple Sites
Training and Vetting Qualification Dates
TDC qualification dates
Payroll Support:
Transcribing both site schedules to individual contractor time sheets, updating time sheets for new contractors, and adding in any training pay or expense reimbursements for that time period
Recording site team leader changes, from pay period to pay period
Recording and updating contractor number of trips to each site, for pay rate specifications (within Database)
Maintaining Contractor balances of expense reimbursements and contractor advances
Submitting CAC card appointment requests to the travel department, and submitting contractor travel requests to the travel department (flight/rental cars/ use of SOC vehicles/ etc.)
Security:
Work closely with Facilities Security Office to ensure all candidates have appropriate clearances and background checks.
Receives incoming telephone calls for a department or organization, obtains caller’s name, and forwards calls to appropriate person or takes a message.
Act as an administrative liaison with internal and/or external sources.
Schedules appointments, maintains conference room schedule, receives or sends out messenger/courier items.
Capable of solving problems, communicating proposed solutions to upper management.

Required Clearance:

Secret; with ability to obtain an TS (Full Lifestyle Poly)

Required Education:

Associates Degree (minimum), with Bachelor's degree preferred.

Required Experience:
At least 1 or more years experience as an administrative/customer service representative in a corporate environment.
