We have a fantastic full time career opportunity in Chicago (afternoon shift) for a qualified Manual Machinist to work in a controlled job-shop work environment with the following requirements:
• Fully experienced in using both horizontal boring machines and vertical boring machines.
• Experienced in using centre-lathes.
• Experienced in machining pump components such as impellers, wear-rings, bearing housings, covers, seals.
• Experienced in machining pump shafts 3- 10 feet in length. The candidate must be able to hold very close tolerances over this length (<0.0005”) for the long length, grooves, threading, etc., using a steady rest. The candidate must also be highly experienced in cutting shaft threads
• Experienced in machining pump casings including the line boring of axially split pump casings.
• Necessary skills such as boring, threading and facing a must.
Candidate must be proficient with the following measuring tools: micrometer, calipers, depth gages, fixed gages, go-no-go gages and templates.
• Ability to set up and use jigs, fixtures (collets), arbors, mandrels, centers, clamps.
• Sufficient mathematical skills are required to compute angels, radii, bolt circles and other dimensions. Work to tolerances within .001 inch.
• Must be able to do tool layouts, read blueprints, adjust feed rate, depth of
cuts.
• Experience machining refurbished, large parts in a shop environment.
• Ability to mill shafts 3 feet to 6 feet will bring additional compensation.
• Fluent in English.
• A minimum of 7 years post-training experience is required.
Journeyman status or equivalent desired. Candidates experienced in the pump industry strongly considered. US Military experience a plus.

Recreation Special Uses Administrator
Duty Locations: Fairplay and Leadville, CO, one position will be filled in each location.
DUTIES: The Recreation Special Uses Administrator position primarily administers outfitter guide operations, special events, Campground Concession, and filming permits.
Monitor and evaluate permittee compliance within permit terms, conduct inspections of permittee operations and negotiates to correct problems and improve permittee performance. Request immediate compliance or takes action to suspend permits where public safety is concerned and compliance has not been adhered to permit standards.
Refines existing capacity studies and NEPA documentation. Leads and/or is a member of interdisciplinary teams that complete public scoping, assists with public involvement, completes and/or assists with the preparation of appropriate NEPA documentation for permit issuance and for
other recreation/travel management or as assigned. Completes permit amendments and renewal processes.
Prepare special use permits, amendments, cost recovery, and billing utilizing the USFS SUDS and INFRA programs. Reviews all paperwork such as annual operating plans, applications, itineraries, fee structures, insurance requirements involved with initiating a special use permit. Track and supply billing information to recreation program manager. Assists and/or leads other recreation projects on the District as needed. Provides law enforcement support of Forest Service Regulations.
Organizational Unit: Region 2 - The Pike & San Isabel National Forests and Cimarron & Comanche National Grasslands are located in Southern Colorado. The Forest unit is comprised of eight Ranger Districts stretching over 3 million acres from Leadville, CO to Elkhart, KS. The Forest Supervisor’s Office is located in Pueblo, Colorado. The Forest and Grasslands have a complexity of resources. The Forest is considered an “urban” Forest emphasizing people related resources including fire and fuels, recreation, watershed, lands, and special uses.
Leadville Ranger District:
CAMPGROUNDS & PICNIC AREAS: The District manages the Turquoise Lake and Twin Lakes Recreation Areas. These two areas provide camping, day use, boating, fishing, and hiking recreation opportunities. There are 15 developed campgrounds on the district. All fee sites are operated by concessionaires.
TRAILS: Over 350 miles of non-motorized trails including the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and the Colorado Trail are on the District. There are numerous partners and volunteers including the Colorado Trail Foundation and the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative. There are ten peaks over 14,000 feet on the District.
WILDERNESS: The District is the lead manager for the Mount Massive, Collegiate Peaks, and Buffalo Peaks Wilderness areas which cross into the Salida and South Park Ranger Districts. A portion of the Holy Cross Wilderness is on the District.
WINTER RECREATION: The District manages the special use permit for Ski Cooper ski area, Tennessee Pass Nordic Center ski trails, and the Chicago Ridge Backcountry Snow Cat Skiing permits. Ice fishing, cross country skiing and snowmobiling are all popular on the District.
OUTFITTER-GUIDES: Twenty permitted guides providing environmental education, hiking, backpacking, low impact camping, mountain biking, horseback riding, x-country skiing; fishing and hunting. An additional 20 guides operate on the District from neighboring units.

Average annual rainfall is 15 inches; average annual snowfall is 130 inches; average summer high temperature is 65-70 (July); average winter high temperature is 15-20 (January). The town of Leadville is at an elevation of over 10,000 feet.

South Park Ranger District:
The South Park Ranger District receives a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) above the Rest of the USA (RUSA) rate as part of the Denver metropolitan area counties.
The South Park Ranger District office is located in Fairplay, Colorado at 9,953 feet elevation. The district is approximately 540,296 acres in size, including two Wilderness areas (Lost Creek and Buffalo Peaks), and is located in Park and Teller counties. Elevations on the District range from 7,200 to over 14,000 feet and the area has multiple outdoor recreation opportunities including hunting, fishing, mountain biking/hiking/climbing, camping, and winter sports. The district has over 1,000 miles of private land boundary, which includes adjacent ownership with BLM, Forest Service and State land, but is primarily private lands. Communities within the district include Alma, Como, Guffey, Hartsel, Jefferson, Lake George and Florissant. The district surrounds the geographic feature of “South Park”, one of four mountain parks in Colorado. A “park” is a relatively flat, high-elevation basin surrounded by mountain ranges on all sides.
The minerals program on the South Park Ranger District is one of the largest in Region 2 and has over 4,000 unpatented mining claims. The range program is “zoned” on the Pike NF and includes three districts spanning 1.1 million acres (Pikes Peak, South Platte, and South Park.
The fuels/timber program focus is on implementing the Front Range Fuels Strategy and providing public firewood. Most treatment areas are located within the ponderosa-montane vegetation type on highly erodible, decomposed granitic soils, with emphasis on fuels reduction to adjacent private properties. The district is involved in the planning and implementation of prescribed burning annually.
The fire program is active in fire suppression in an interagency WUI environment and also supports implementation of the Front Range Fuels Strategy. Numerous fires have occurred including the Hayman Fire (137,000 acres) in 2002.
The recreation program oversees 700 plus miles of roads, 240 miles of trails, 20 campgrounds and 6 picnic areas. In addition, there are two special recreation areas within the district: Jefferson Lake (which includes 3 campgrounds, 3 picnic areas, and the lake) and Eleven Mile Canyon, a spectacular cliff-lined river drainage with 6 campgrounds and 4 picnic areas. A large variety of special use permits are administered also.
The District has about 23 permanent year round staff, and from 10 to 20 additional staff during summers.

Fairplay is located in central Colorado in Park County, approximately 85 miles southwest of Denver and 85 miles west-northwest of Colorado Springs at the intersection of U.S. Highway 285 and Highway 9. Fairplay lies within the geographic feature of “South Park.” South Park covers over 900 square miles and is surrounded by the Mosquito, Park, Platte River, Kenosha, and Tarryall mountain ranges. The town sits on the edge of the Middle Fork of the South Platte River and was originally founded as a mining town in the mid-to-late-1800s with the discovery of gold and silver. Description of Position Duties:
This position is located on the Mancos/Dolores Ranger District of the San Juan National Forest. Develops, coordinates, and implements the Heritage Resource Program on the unit, including the development of policy, immediate and long-range objectives, integration with resource activities, and establishment of priorities. The Mancos/Dolores Heritage Resource Program is considered a high complexity program with two archaeological districts, 26 consulting tribes, and high densities of heritage resources requiring the protection of historic and pre-historic properties and artifacts.
The position involves both office and field work. Office work involves sitting at a desk for as many as several weeks at a time. Work includes preparation of maps, inventories, reports, and records related to the discovery, protection, monitoring, salvage, and interpretation of heritage and cultural resource areas. The incumbent will also be responsible for preparation and oversight of contracts for cultural resource survey.
Field work will require systematic pedestrian survey of project areas. This may involve walking and climbing extended distances over extremely rough and steep terrain and at high altitudes; establishing field camps; wading or rafting streams; horseback riding; elementary climbing; operating 4-wheel drive vehicles over rough and mountainous terrain and in extremes of temperature and climatic conditions, using specialized equipment, and occasional flight in fixed wing aircraft and helicopters.
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Archeologist who is well-versed in Section 106 theory and practice to coordinate and conduct pre-field analysis, complete necessary archaeological field surveys and write assessments for consultation with the State Historic Preservation Officer. Consultation with the Advisory Council and Tribes is also required at times.
The incumbent assists with Heritage Program activities and data management, such as tracking of compliance for projects and data entry for NRM INFRA, GIS, and Forest databases. The position requires a working knowledge and demonstrated experience with the ESRI ArcGIS family of products, Trimble and Garmin GPS products, as well as familiarity with Forest Service NRM Infra database and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional duties may include assisting other program areas as needed to meet unit goals. A true team-player with a strong technical background in cultural resource management is most desired. This unit provides the incumbent with ample opportunities to build and grow the heritage program.
Firefighter Type 2 qualifications at the arduous level would be desirable for wildland fire assignments. Firefighting duties involve field work requiring physical performance calling for above-average endurance and superior conditioning. These duties may include an occasional demand for extraordinarily strenuous activities in emergencies under adverse environmental conditions and over extended periods of time. Requirements include running, walking, climbing jumping, twisting, bending, and lifting up to 45 pounds.

SAN JUAN NATIONAL FOREST
The San Juan National Forest is headquartered in Durango, CO and is responsible for management of nearly 1.9 million acres in Southwest Colorado. Primary management activities include recreation, range and timber management, fisheries, water quality, and heritage and cultural resources. The Weminuche Wilderness is located on the Forest and is over 450,000 acres in area. The San Juan Mountains on the Forest have many peaks over 10,000 feet, with three 14’ers in the midst of the Wilderness. The Forest has three Ranger Districts with offices located in Pagosa Springs, CO, Bayfield, CO, and Dolores, CO.
The Forest spans pinyon-juniper and ponderosa pine forests at lower elevations, with large areas of aspen, spruce-fir forests at higher elevations, and alpine tundra in the highest areas. The timber program on the San Juan has been on an upward trend, with demand increasing from the biomass and timber industries. The Mancos/Dolores district has ongoing and future vegetation management projects in Ponderosa pine and Aspen with upcomming management in the Spruce/Fir zone. The migration of the spruce beetle from Wilderness to the areas outside the Wilderness should provide opportunity for timber sales to meet industry demand while reducing risk to infrastructure, Forest values, and private property. Biomass harvesting is filling that role in lower elevation areas near Pagosa Springs, and this may expand as the pilot plant begins energy production over the next year or two. DUTY STATION INFORMATION
The Duty Station for this position is at the Dolores Public Lands Office in Dolores, Colorado. The District covers over 597,000 acres and supports active range, wildlife, fuels, timber, archaeology, recreation and fire programs. The District contains the headwaters of the Dolores River. McPhee Reservoir (the second largest body of water in Colorado) lies within the District boundary. Approximately one-half of the Lizard Head Wilderness Area lies within the jurisdiction of the Dolores District. The mountainous terrain contains three peaks over 14,000 feet and several more over 13,000 feet. Plant communities range from low elevation (6,000 ft. above sea level) pinion/juniper forests to high elevation (14,000 ft. above sea level) alpine meadows with mixed conifer aspen communities in between.
COMMUNITY
Dolores is located in Montezuma County, in the heart of the Four Corners. Population within the Dolores city limits is approximately 800. The total population in Montezuma County is about 26,000. The town lies at an elevation of 6900 feet and is located along the Dolores River. Dolores is a full service community. There is one doctor’s office, one grocery store and several restaurants. There is a K-12 school serving about 500 students.
Other larger, full service communities are Cortez, located 10 miles south of Dolores, Durango, located approximately 50 miles east of Dolores, and Farmington, New Mexico, located approximately 85 miles southeast of Dolores. The climate is considered mild with over 300 days of sunshine.
The economy of Dolores and Montezuma Counties is based primarily on agriculture, CO2 development, tourism and recreation. Real estate prices vary. Housing prices are in the $100,000 to $300,000+ range. Rentals are somewhat scarce and for a two to three bedroom house range from $850 to $1000 per month. Apartments are from $500 to $700.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The position serves as a Recreation Technician in OHV Developed Recreation and Special Use Administration for the Hebo Ranger District on the Siuslaw National Forest. This position combines duties of recreation management working with State OHV grants and budget, supervision of Sand Lake Recreation Area staff, and managing and administering the Special Use Program for the district. This position will report directly to the district Recreation and Lands Staff. This recreation area has 4 campgrounds, septic and water systems, an open riding area, and a day use area. Sand Lake Recreation Area is open 365 days/year. Straddling the Oregon Coast Range, the Hebo Ranger District is one of the few lower 48 National Forests to be positioned on ocean front real estate.
THE DUTY STATION
The position will be stationed in Hebo, OR. Government housing is not available but temporary housing in the district bunkhouse may be considered for a short period.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Applicants must be knowledgeable working in Special Uses Administration, budget planning and cost tracking, Grant writing and Recreation Management. The applicant must be able to qualify as an FPO, and be qualified by time or education for a GS-7 position.

Job Responsibilities:

The A&S SME shall monitor all training and assessment event activities conducted at A&S Phase II. The A&S SME shall be required to organize contracted cadre instructors into small teams to assist in the assessment of candidates during A&S Phase II. The A&S SME shall be responsible for the supervision of contracted personnel during each event conducted at Phase II and provide the A&S Director recommendations for improvements through AAR documentation. The A&S SME shall post daily locations of land navigation points being utilized to facilitate and expedite movement in the event of an accident or injury. The A&S SME shall assist in the construction of 5 paragraph orders and other documentation related to the event being conducted. The A&S SME shall assist in refinements of the A&S Primary Instructors Standard Operating Procedures. The A&S SME shall work in concert with the Site Coordination Leader to ensure all logistical requirements to support the program are complete. Personnel shall work extensively with the Microsoft Office suite of tools, and must be proficient in the use of Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel. The A&S SME shall also be responsible for other training, administrative and operational duties in support of the A&S mission.
Minimum Job Requirements:
• 10 years of experience within SOF or Marine Force Recon Organization.
• 5 years’ experience as an E7 or CWO operating in a SOF team environment
• 3 years’ experience as a leader of small special ops teams as an enlisted or CWO
• Graduate of a SOF A&S Course or Reconnaissance Basic Skills Course
• Possess a secret clearance on day one of contract execution

Are you an Automotive Studio Designer looking for a dynamic company to join? Roush is searching for an Automotive Studio Designer who will provide innovative design concepts that meet internal and external customer requests and will be called upon to solve difficult design problems with creative concepts and develop design studies with presentations for internal and external reviews. The ideal candidate will have the ability to plan ahead, support, coordinate with, and interact with other design team members. This person will strive for continuous improvement of design tools and techniques relevant to current design trends and directions in the industry. This position is located in our Livonia, MI facility.
Responsibilities
• Provide concept quality design concepts, ideas, workouts, and illustrations in support of new and innovative product concepts in 2D and 3D format
• Design and create concept models with 3D digital tools
• Provide design direction as necessary to develop new products, i.e., prototype models, clay model follow-up, modeling, and client follow-up
• High level of two-dimensional sketching and rendering skills, including well thought out and detailed supporting sections and design workouts
• Continually develop sketch techniques, presentation, and working knowledge of tools used in the design studio environment
• Perform other relevant assigned duties, as necessary
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Transportation Design
• Proficiency in digital 3D modeling and design
• High level of two-dimensional sketching and rendering skills in digital and manual format
• Understanding of design for production in concept and application
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as an Automotive Studio Designer
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed as an Automotive Studio Designer

Due to our steady growth, we have an immediate opening for a Senior Engine Calibration Engineer who will be responsible for delivering calibrations from demonstration level to complete powertrain production level. The Senior Engine Calibration Engineer must show capacity to assimilate and understand the implications of new developments, quickly responding appropriately to situations as they evolve. Responsibilities
• Carry out dynamometer and vehicle-based calibration development.
• Analyze results to calibrate the powertrain control system.
• Support the validation and release of the calibrations into production.
• Perform hot climate, cold climate and high altitude development testing to meet customer objectives.
• Calibrate all aspects of powertrain function, including core engine and transmission control features, electronic throttle control and reliability monitor, OBDII, tailpipe and evaporative emissions and auxiliary subsystems.
• Provide positive technical contributions in a project team environment.
• Support various dyno and/or vehicle based research projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced junior members of the team.
• Interface with customers providing technical reports and presentations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• The Senior Engine Calibration Engineer will have five years of engine calibration or controls experience.
• An energetic and enthusiastic attitude toward vehicle testing, development, and research.
• Willing to travel up to 15% within the U.S. for development testing at temperature and altitude extremes.
• Ability to perform effectively in a team environment.
• Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
• US Citizenship preferred
• Experience with ETAS INCA and/or ATI Vision calibration tools.
• Matlab Simulink or C program documentation experience.
• Diesel and/or alternative fuel engine calibration experience
