• Support and staff the Board of Directors so that it is well informed, involved, and capable of assuming responsibility for policy guidance and fiscal accountability. I. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Description
BPA’s Technical Training Center, located in Vancouver Washington, has one of the most highly acclaimed high-voltage electrical apprentice programs in the world. You will spend your first few weeks in training at the Technical Training Center before you report to your official duty station. Training is a combination of progressively difficult on-the-job experiences, classroom study, correspondence courses, and homework. Apprentices will be promoted to Journeyman after successfully passing the final step review and be assigned to vacant Journeyman positions as they open up. Following are descriptions of the three Electrical Apprenticeship tracks we offer.
Power System Electrician
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will work under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Power System Electrician or Electrician Foreman. You will be trained to perform a variety of installations, adjustments, maintenance, and repairs on electrical equipment. Maintenance tasks include routine inspection, modification, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment. Apprentices work from sketches, drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and instruction books and are expected to gain knowledge of the various work processes with progressively difficult assignments.
Substation Operator
Apprentices are trained under the direction of a Chief Substation Operator. Training tasks include: review of security and station logs; inspection of automatic logging devices, event recorders, and fault locators for proper operation; inspection of indication and tags on control panels; check for adherence to station voltage schedule and compliance with operating limits on equipment; inspect all components in switchyard and out-buildings; check security of property perimeter; check for hazardous conditions; ascertain scheduled switching; plan and perform delegated switching; operate various communication systems; keep dispatchers informed of all pertinent information and notify appropriate officials in case of a power system emergency; read meters, instruments, gauges and record for billing purposes; read and analyze substation drawings; lead and instruct others as assigned; and perform containment/cleanup measures to protect the environment.
High Voltage Lineman
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will work under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Lineman or Lineman Foreman. You will be trained to maintain and construct high voltage lines on wood pole and steel tower structures. Training includes: access road maintenance procedures; care and inspection of tools, gear, and government vehicles; digging procedures; working with different types of wood structures and insulators; safety and first aid; BPA Safety Code; brush and weed control; danger tree identification and removal; setting, anchoring, and guying of pole structures; public relations; blueprint reading; purpose and installation of protective grounds; rigging for stringing and handling of conductor; steel tower erection; conductor handling and splicing; counterpoise and bonding; line phasing and transposition; procedures for locating line trouble; types of conductor and factors affecting conductor size; hot line maintenance procedures; insulator testing and voltage gradients; protective tagging and clearances; recognition and cure of corona and radio interference; results of lightning damage and correct lightning protection.

Analyze process plans and specifications for manufacturability and make improvement plans related to the process feasibility, throughput, ergonomics, and safety.
Problem analysis of issues related to throughput and quality of product. Use problem solving skills to analyze and make improvements to the equipment and specification to allow for achieving the target set forth for quality and OEE. (including target setting, task definition and scheduling).
Initiate preventative and continuous improvement actions relating to product, process, and quality systems.
Report generation, project progress tracking and control, and results presentations to management.
Lead and support system installation through start of production.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
The Fuel (Requirements)
1. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program required.
2. three - eight years of process engineering experience (progressive experience with automation or manufacturing equipment as it relates to high speed manufacturing/production equipment and processes)
3. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and knowledge of PLC systems is recommended.
4. Ability to work effectively in teams and on a self-directed basis.
5. Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and countermeasure identification skills relating to vehicle electrical systems.

and weather related problems; check switch points; observe right-of-way and
passing trains for shifted loads and spillage.
* PERFORM TRACK MAINTENANCE, REPAIR, AND INSTALLATION. Drive spikes
into ties and spike maul; pull spikes with claw bar; install and remove rail
anchors; slide, place, and align tie plates under rails; cut in rails; plug
spike holes; with assistance, lift rails using manual track jack; broom off
dust and snow from movable track parts or switches; set up switch heaters.
* HANDLE AND MOVE TRACK MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT. With assistance,
load/unload equipment weighing 85- to 100 lbs. (air hammer, rail drill) from
back of cart or truck and carry to work site; without assistance,
load/unload equipment weighing 50 to 75 lbs. (track jack, rail saw,
jitterbug); with assistance, remove and install rail using rail tongs, with
assistance, remove ties and slide new ties into place using two-man tie
tongs; with assistance, move debris away from work site (spike cans,
anchors).
* MAINTAIN TRACKBED. Remove and replace ballast; tamp ballast; unload
or assist in unloading ballast from cart or truck.
* WORK WITH EQUIPMENT. Safely and effectively operate the following:
an air hammer to drive spikes; air or gas powered wrenches to loosen or
tighten track bolts; rail drill to drill holes in rail; portable abrasive
rail saw to cut rails.
* PRACTICE SAFE WORK HABITS. Understand and follow company and
industry safety rules, practices, and procedures, wear prescribed safety
apparel; take appropriate action when conditions threaten safety of self or
coworkers; ensure equipment and work area are in safe operating condition
before starting work; monitor for emergency situations by identifying visual
signals and warning sounds.

Field work consists of traveling to the rig location, unloading and loading of equipment and installing it onto the oil rig derrick. This includes installing equipment control panels, hooking up air and hydraulic lines and power cables, performing tests to ensure proper function of equipment, and instructing rig crews on safe operation of equipment. If previously installed equipment has a problem, a field technician will be dispatched to correct the problem.

Experience with A/C technology including motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD’s), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) - a definite plus for electrical technicians. The Alliance Coordinator works with the Portfolio Teams to ensure achievement of corporate goals, including SDI participation, customer satisfaction, and financial goals.
Implement strategic approaches to sourcing goods/services that are of core importance to the corporation. Develop detailed sourcing plans. Ensure the key strategies of the Supply Chain sourcing plan are delivered according to plan. Provide commercial management for major initiatives. Ensure internal business unit customer needs are met. Communicate vital market, contract, and supplier information to business units. Establish cross-functional teams consisting of suppliers and company stakeholders and provide leadership, coaching, and support to team members to insure the team's success.
Being knowledgeable of the markets for the commodities and services which are sourced to ensure that the Company is receiving competitive value. Measure supplier performance to sourcing goals/key performance indicators. Provide work direction to Sourcing Analysts to coordinate material planning and inventory management. Apply of a variety of sourcing, demand management, and analytical techniques to achieve superior business results that satisfy business unit, department and corporate objectives. Perform ongoing market analysis to ensure competitive pricing. Prepare and lead complex negotiations with suppliers. Actively seek and utilize MBE/WBE suppliers to support and achieve corporate goals.

MID-LEVEL ALL SOURCE ANALYST (SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY)
Primary Responsibilities: The All-Source (Science and Technology) Intelligence Analyst will be involved in researching and evaluating information from disparate sources to produce technology risk assessments, including technology analysis, monitoring trends and events related to particular countries or issues, , and preparing a variety of intelligence assessments. Candidates will also be responsible for attending meetings and coordinating with Intelligence community analysts and interagency working groups as applicable.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for generating technology risk assessments with limited supervision, interacting with other organizations to complete risk assessments, and collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on areas of specific concern. The selected candidate must be able to multi-task, accomplish tasks with limited supervision, and respond to short notice tasking.
Basic Qualifications: At a minimum, the successful candidate should possess a BS plus 4-6 years or a MS plus 2-4 years experience or a PhD plus 0-2 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Engineering or other hard science or knowledge of Pro-Engineer is desired.
Clearance: U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government TS/SCI level clearance, which is required for this position. Applicants will be subjected to a security investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. All personnel must have successfully passed a Counter Intelligence (CI) polygraph or must be able to pass a CI polygraph.
