Why should you apply for this role
As an Engineering Support professional, you will work in the Gas Advanced Design group and will be responsible for providing project management and design services for Colorado Springs Utilities natural gas high-pressure distribution infrastructure. In this role, you will provide project and operational support to our CAD Technicians and Design Engineers, while supporting all functions related to traceable, verifiable, and complete (TVC) compliance. You will also perform some drafting and design-related duties using AutoCAD Civil and Plant 3D. The work that you do will directly impact the current and future safety and reliability of Colorado Springs’ natural gas infrastructure and community.
This position will potentially be filled at multiple levels; the differentiating requirements, education, and pay ranges are listed below:
Engineer Support Coordinator - $43.60 to $45.53 per hour
Associate’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), CAD/Design, Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a closely related field from an accredited university is preferred; or completion of an approved apprenticeship program
At least 7 years of experience in a relevant engineering-orientated field
Engineer Support Senior-$37.67 to $39.35 per hour
Associate’s Degree in Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university is preferred; or completion of an approved apprenticeship program
At least 5 years of experience in a relevant engineering-orientated field

What will you be doing
Collaborating and providing technical guidance for a team of engineering drafters to develop standards, templates, processes, procedures, and best practices for design and as-built packages

Supporting and conducting preliminary project research and project management for engineering projects (e.g., developing budgets, estimating project costs, tracking changes, monitoring schedules)
Conducting field site assessments, staking, and final field checks in potentially hazardous situations around energized lines and equipment and combustible commodities – and inspecting construction, installation, and maintenance of facilities, service lines, and equipment
Determining access needs, surveys, and negotiating with property owners; obtaining right-of-way easements and researching titles to determine ownership
Who you are...
Associate of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited institution(gas utility is preferred)
Experience with AutoCAD software and Plant and Civil 3D is highly valued, as are CAD certifications

As a Reliability and Performance Engineer, you will have the opportunity to support the execution of our performance monitoring and test program by providing engineering analysis of operational data to identify, diagnose, and disposition performance and reliability issues of our operating assets. How Will You Make an Impact
Provide operational support for various power quality, reliability, voltage, loading, Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) and Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) concerns
Investigate and analyze system reliability performance data to help identify trends; work with stakeholders to propose system improvements and reliability project recommendations
Perform circuit reviews using Synergi® Electric, as well as fault and protection coordination analysis to calculate the available short-circuit current throughout the distribution system
Coordinate line protection devices including reclosers, line fuses, and interrupter switches, while working with the System Protection Engineer to recommend distribution feeder breaker settings

*Duties and Responsibilities:*
?Advise NSWC N8, N88, N887, and RO staff in acquisition matters for the
C5ISRT Programs of Record (PoR)
?Analyze and report status of PoRs to NSWC, N8, N88, and N887 C5ISRT RO
Staff
?Provide NSWC N8 with analysis of POM strategy and recommendations for
C5ISRT PoRs
?Provide technical advisement to NSWC, N8, N88, N887 and C5ISRT RO staff
?Assist NSWC C5ISRT RO and Commodity Management staff with analysis and
planning of PoR annual obligations and expenditures
?Assist NSWC C5ISRT RO staff in identification of capability gaps and
requirements-based solutions
?Liaise with SOCOM Program Management Offices (PMO) to identify R&D,
procurement, and maintenance funding options supporting C5ISRT future
technical solutions
?Assist NSWC C5ISRT staff and SOCOM PMOs in PoR requirements document
generation and updates as required
?Assist NSWC C5ISRT RO staff with combat evaluations, test events, and
other technical experiments as required to support the respective
programs in advancement of technical capability
?Liaise with lower echelon N8 representatives, attend periodic PoR
programmatic updates, and host requirements related discussions as required
?Liaise with NSWC C5ISRT Commodity Management staff for year of
execution concerns, identification of future PoR shortfalls and/or
realignment of funds during year-of-execution and for POM planning
purposes as required
?Attend SOCOM and Intelligence Community C5ISRT related conferences,
information meetings, and working groups as required
*Required Qualifications:*

?TS clearance with SCI eligibility
?Bachelor?s degree in related field (government acquisitions, program
administration, C5ISRT technologies, etc.), or 5+ years of combined
military experience in C5ISRT relevant technical fields and
requirements, resourcing, and acquisitions
oRelevant military experience shall include a minimum of four years
hands-on experience with SOCOM C5ISRT systems and not less than one year
of experience with SOCOM acquisitions procedures
