Essential Job Functions -Ensure proposals are written in a professional and timely manner and reviews all proposals with Executive Director prior to submission -Works closely with staff to gain statistics used in proposals -Responsible for projecting grant income for budget related purposes as well as being responsible for meeting or exceeding the budget -Become well informed as to the daily operations, needs and challenges of TLC -Prospect for new funders that we may apply to -Manage all aspects of annual giving campaign(s), including the creation and production of direct mail, online campaigns and internal staff contributions while meeting budget goals -Ensure excellent stewardship for all donors -Observe and recommend new tracking opportunities for program staff to gain additional statistics that can be used in our proposals -Oversee and promote employer matching contributions that our volunteers and donors can take advantage of -Maintain accurate and updated files of TLC's development efforts -Oversee efforts of preparing and submit all reports and follow up paperwork for all grants and employee match efforts -Manage the acknowledgment process and oversee the creation of all acknowledgments -Present to various organizations and groups about Tri-Lakes Cares and attend award ceremonies in which grants are dispersed or checks are presented -Give tours of TLC during site visits -Fills in for Executive Director or fellow team members as needed Other Duties -Serves on internal committees -Submit monthly board reports the first week of the month for inclusion in the board report -Submit invoices for payments when due -Performs related work as required by Executive Director Knowledge, Abilities and Skills -Self-starter and excellent interpersonal skills -Team-oriented, capable of working with a wide range of people as well as autonomously -Ability to use discretion working with sensitive donor and financial information -Strong administrative, research and organizational skills -Organizational skills to coordinate all funder deadlines -Written and oral communication skills to work with all publics -Ability to respond appropriately to sudden needs and unexpected emergencies -Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and the internet -Ability to write in a professional manner Qualifications -Minimum High School Diploma -Experience working with a non-profit organization -Experience writing federal, state and private foundation proposals -Minimum of two years of progressive experience and proven record of success in fundraising -Knowledge of the Colorado Common Grant Application -Good credit score -Professional appearance -Desire to "give back" to the community -Flexible schedule Preferred Qualifications -Ability to speak and understand Spanish at a conversational level -College degree in relatable field -Knowledge of Bloomerang donor database -Experience with capital campaigns -Previous experience managing personnel Position May Include the following -Other duties assigned by the Executive Director -Attendance at development related seminars and info sessions -Occasional work at special events Organizational Relationships -Reports to: Executive Director of Tri-Lakes Cares -Once direct report, the Development Associate Physical Demands The work is mostly sedentary with periods of light physical activity.
