Position Description:
Provide mechanical and fabrication engineering support, technical expertise,
and counsel to the Space C2 and Surveillance Division, Program Office (PO).
Utilizing the full range of mechanical design principles provide technical
oversight/input during each phase of project execution (planning, requirements
development, build, testing, and final acceptance) to ensure project stays
within boundaries of scope, time, and cost while still meeting quality
standards. Support all aspects of product development including
conceptualization, design, analysis, prototype product, and testing in a
cross-functional team environment. Review and evaluate system technical
specifications, designs, interfaces, analyses, test plans/procedures/results,
technical earned value and IMS artifacts, risk assessments, and technical data
packages for the determination of compliance with loading (weight/volume),
heating/cooling, ventilation, electrical/acoustic shielding, fire suppression,
and power requirements, and other appropriate engineering factors. Analyze,
assess, and oversee installation of new and repaired components (ranging from
piece parts to entire sub systems). Review system drawings and other related
artifacts to ensure they accurately document delivered systems. Provide
subject matter expertise on wide range of design interfaces and
configurations, gap analysis, regulatory and safety limitations, and test
procedures.

Required Skills:
Excellent team building, communication, writing, speaking, briefing,
leadership/management skills. In-depth/extensive DOD sustainment and
acquisition experience. Ability to write, analyze, and review the full
spectrum of engineering technical documents and reports. Strong ability to
support senior government leadership providing succinct analyses, options, and
recommendations. In-depth, detailed knowledge and experience covering the
full spectrum of DOD engineering processes, procedures, regulations, etc.
Position will have a 50% travel requirement.

Denver International Airport (DIA) is seeking Airport Operations Terminal/Customer Service Interns for paid positions to learn from the inside-out what it takes to deliver effective customer service, safety and security at a major international airport.

The Airport Operations Terminal/Customer Service Interns will work with the Aviation Customer Service Supervisors and provide support to the customer service and terminal operations team to deliver aviation customer service at concourses and terminal information booths, the airport call center and other public areas of the airport such as VIP escorting and international/customs areas; the team provides information and resolutions to airport passengers and the public at Denver International Airport on a wide variety of issues.
Additionally, the entire airport goes into heightened action during snow events and critical incidents.

The selected individuals will join an Aviation Customer Service Agents team working and rotating assigned sites i.e., the Call Center answering phone calls, a myriad of questions/issues in-person at the information booths and the federal customs area. This opportunity will also allow individuals to learn a broad and detailed understanding about aviation operations rarely available.

If you are a student who enjoys variety and are interested in learning the true nuts-and-bolts of: how to deliver effective airport terminal/customer service in an international commercial environment; how an airport operates in a variety of conditions and situations; and how various roles plug-in to the organization - this may be a fantastic opportunity to lay the groundwork for your future career.

You must be currently enrolled in a college or university, have at least 6 credit hours completed and willing to work either day or swing shifts and weekends as our operations run seven days a week from 7:00 am - 10:00 pm. We are requiring a minimum commitment of 4 hours per shift and you must be available 20 hours per week (your schedule may need to change by semester, but we will still require the same commitment).

Ideally, we're looking for first or second year students interested in: a 1 year or more commitment; enrolled in Aviation, Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Political Science International Studies, or related programs; demonstrating a genuine interest for delivering customer service in an international, diverse environment. Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction. An SAI in a single unit or one under a DAI will be responsible for the requirements below, except for those explicitly covered by the DAI. In many cases, both DAI and SAI will be responsible (e.g., maintaining good relations with school authorities).

Principal Accountabilities & General Responsibilities:

A. The SAI, in coordination with the senior school official, will establish procedures relating to the administration, control, and training of JROTC Cadets. These procedures will cover the appointment, promotion, and demotion of Cadet Officers and noncommissioned officers. The SOP must be approved by the senior school official. The SAI will—

• Manage and conduct the JROTC unit according to school rules, regulations, and customs. The SAI will advise school authorities of laws and regulations affecting the unit.
• Maintain good relations with school authorities, faculty, and the student body.
• Conduct a public affairs effort in the local area middle and elementary schools, among school and community officials, civic groups, parent-teacher groups, and other individuals or groups, designed to further the understanding of JROTC, the school, and the Army.
• Enroll students in JROTC and support school officials while executing the curriculum and the integrated extra-curricular activities.
• Prepare an annual Master Training Plan. Develop a schedule for the year reflecting school activities and JROTC objectives and activities. Include cadets in the planning phase and organize cadets and resources toward the objectives.
• Recruit and retain new students. Market the JROTC program in the school and community. Maintain the minimum enrollment of 100 cadets or 10 percent of the school’s total student enrollment
• Counsel and mentor students on their academic performance as members of the Corps of Cadets. Assist interested students in applying for SROTC scholarships and completing service academy applications.
• Plan, organize and conduct hands-on training that build from instructions in the classroom: color guard, marksmanship (optional), drill teams, and JROTC social activities.
• Set an outstanding personal example of professional, social and personal behavior and appearance for cadets, colleagues and the community.
• Maintain contact with parents of all Cadets experiencing academic or behavioral problems.(7) Ensure JROTC unit areas are neat and orderly; current chain of command photos, Cadet creed, core abilities, and mission statement are present; and all sensitive items are secured.
• Ensure instructors share teaching responsibilities. No instructor is exempt from teaching a fair-share of the LET POI. Instructors should teach by expertise and preference in subject areas, rather than strictly by LET levels. All instructors (SAI/AIs) are responsible for teaching the JROTC curriculum.

Qualifications/Skills:
• Officers in the Army must have a bachelor's degree or higher to fill the role of Army JROTC instructor.
• You must be an officer or a non-commissioned officer to serve as an instructor.
• Warrant Officers and non-commissioned officers may also serve as SAIs if he/she possesses a four year degree (this is a non-waiver requirement).
• Must have an excellent record indicating good military performance. In addition you must be on active duty within one year of retirement or have already retired within the last three years in the Army grades of E-6 through E-9, WO-1 through WO-5 and O-3 through O-6.

Provides C-IED Operational expertise support to the C-IED IPT within ACT. In particular, the Advisor will be involved with assisting in the development of a C-IED Policy addressing the strategic context of the IED threat and the required tactical capabilities, enablers, organization(s) and processes. QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have experience in C-IED Operational training at the operational level and possess recent experience in an operational theater with a significant IED threat within the last ten (10) years.
• Must have C-IED related Staff Officer Experience of a minimum of three years within the last three (3) years.
• Must be able to demonstrate a proven professional experience in and knowledge of the following areas of the six C-IED Key Operating Activities (KOAs):
o Predict: thorough and continuous intelligence analysis is required to develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all parts of the IED systems, including the identification of any developments in IED technology and tactics.
o Prevent: once gained, the commander must feed the understanding achieved in prediction into the targeting process and thus employ his resources efficiently to interdict the nodes and linkages of the IED system.
o Detect: it is unlikely that even the most effective preventative activities will totally thwart the adversary from employing any IEDs. A crucial activity, therefore, is the detection of IEDs after they have been emplaced.
o Neutralize: when an IED emplacement has not been prevented, it is necessary to neutralize the device so that friendly forces and the local population can operate safely in and around the emplacement site without it detonating. Neutralization may be either temporary or permanent.
o Mitigate: when the predict, prevent and detect KOAs fail to prevent the adversary from detonating his IED, it is still important to be able to minimize the effects of the resulting blast. The mitigate KOA will include technical, tactical and information activities.
o Exploit: C-IED exploitation is the process by which scenes, events and associated physical materials are recorded and analyzed in order to understand IED thread modus operandi, device capabilities and perpetrator relationships. Exploitation can take place at any stage within the IED system but every effort should be made to carry out exploitation as early as possible in the IED system event chain.
o Experience working in major military HQ and hold a formal advanced military staff qualification or equivalent national qualification.
o Obtained the rank of at least Lt. Col level or equivalent.
o Experience of at least six (6) years experience working in a C-IED related position.
o Hold or demonstrate the capability of holding a Top Secret security vetting.
o Operational experience of C-IED in a deployed theater of six (6) months within the last eight (8) years.
o Fluent English language.
