Tasks include: - Provide relevant professional information to SOJTF-B concerning the historical, political, military, cultural, religious, and economic conditions and factors that personnel deploying to Afghanistan in support of SOF may encounter. - Provide information to SOJTF-B of key events, civilizations, empires, and personalities in Afghanistan’s history, and the critical role these factors perform in the current mission. - Provide information to SOJTF-B on the importance of the Afghan perspective and perceptions, contrasted against the U.S. perspective or perception, and how these differences and commonalities impact our ability to accomplish SOF objectives in Afghanistan. - Provide information to SOJTF-B on the main features of Afghanistan’s Physical geography, understand the key aspects of various regions and how their location in relation to Kabul influences Special Operations Forces operations. - Produce clear well written presentations, plans, briefings and papers to government personnel. - Assist in hosting/chairing meetings, visitations or conferences related to SOJTF-A and SOJTF-B operations, plans, emerging special operations opportunities and other initiatives. Responsibilities * Deliver dynamic weapons instruction for small arms and crew-served weapons as defined in the COMNECC 3591 series Small Arms Training and Qualification Standards; * Provide training on basic weapons fundamentals, Category III/IV (IAW COMNECC 3591 series) intermediate shooter mechanics, shooting on the move, use of barricades and cover, shooting and moving knowledge, and practical application as individual skills to accession level shooters through more advanced unit level training skills sets with small arms weapons requirements in both a synthetic and live fire environment; * The site lead will oversee the small arms program, provide professional development of the three small arms instructors, and ensure the small arms program produces qualification ready shooters. The contracted small arms instructors will be used as line coaches, training and qualification facilitators supporting the NCG1/2 range N75 cadre; * Travel to other locations as required supporting small arms instruction. Requirements * Must be a graduate of Navy Instructor Training Course or equivalent (completion of a civilian (or commercial) formal course of instruction, which has been evaluated and certified as a Joint Instructor Training/ Navy Instructor Training Course equivalency by the Center for Professional Development); * Must have at least three years’ experience as former military, Law Enforcement Special Weapons and Tactics, or former active duty tour with CAT III/IV shooting experience; * Must be a graduate of one of the following small arms weapons training schools: ESAMI, Blackwater, MidSouth Shooting Institute, Gryphon, Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat, or Marine Corps Advanced Urban Combat (equivalent small arms weapons training school will be considered); * Must have been honorably discharged from the U.S. military within the last five years (DD-214 required); * Must meet/pass Navy High-Risk Training requirements as outlined in OPNAVINST 1500.75 series; * Must be able to complete a physical and psychological examination; * Display technical knowledge of the following weapons systems: * M9 Pistol (REQUIRED) * M4/M16 (variant)(REQUIRED) * M240 * M2 .50 Cal * M500 Shotgun * Must have one year of instructional experience in lieu of designation (DD-214, course certificates, etc.); * Possess valid CPR/AED/First Aid certification; * Must have strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; * Present a professional appearance.
