Electric Meter Specialist
The starting pay for this position is $51.51 followed by an increase to $54.09 upon successfully completing probation (six months). This position is also eligible for relocation assistance.
Our Advanced Metering Team is seeking a journey-level Electric Meter Specialist to be our subject matter expert for electric metering (e.g., self-contained, transformer-rated, and primary metering), ensuring the proper installation and functionality of our single-phase and three-phase meters. This role provides you with opportunities to stay on top of the latest trends in metering by using the latest technology as well as mentoring the next wave of Electric Meter Specialists through our apprenticeship program. This position also operates on a rotating schedule of working both in the shop and out in the field, all while handling a variety of electric metering tasks and duties.
A day in the life of an Electric Meter Specialist may include:
Installing, exchanging, and disconnecting both self-contained and transformer-rated electric meters and related equipment
Performing inspections and ensuring proper operation of electric meters through testing, programming, repairs, and beta testing
Ensuring meter compliance with standards and specifications
Maintaining meter testing equipment to comply with industry standards
Maintaining records and entering daily meter transactions into multiple applications
Providing technical assistance and support to staff and customers
Who You Are
Relevant experience (i.e., five years) in advanced electric metering in lieu of an apprenticeship; otherwise, completion of either a Department of Labor (DOL) certified electric meter apprenticeship OR an employer-sponsored non-registered apprenticeship program is required
Knowledge of electric metering (e.g., self-contained, transformer-rated, and primary metering)
Knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity, trigonometry, vector diagrams pertaining to electrical metering, and fundamentals (i.e., construction, maintenance, testing, standards) of electrical metering equipment
Experience working with single-phase metering and three-phase metering, and working on transformer-rated meters
Experience working on energized circuits in a safe manner so as not to interrupt continuous service to customers
Experience with analyzing, testing, and programming electric meters to meet specifications
Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required for this position, as this position requires operating a Colorado Springs Utilities-owned vehicle.

Colorado Springs Utilities is seeking a skilled leader to join our team as an Operations Supervisor at the Clear Spring Ranch Resource Recovery Facility. This position reports to the Resource Recovery facilities Superintendent and provides leadership and direct supervision to treatment plant operators/treatment specialists and equipment operators.
This position has overall responsibility for planning, executing, and overseeing daily operations at the facility. Perform the duties and tasks of an instructor for the Biomedical
Equipment Technician (BMET) Program in a manner that establishes and

Perform course administrative functions including maintaining student

Perform typical training logistics activities such as using supplies and

THE JOB:
The HV Engineering Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project Substation and Transmission Line Designs from a technical engineering perspective to guarantee that project complies with the project requirements and all engineering IEEE/ANSI standards, applicable codes, and the scope of work.
The Engineering PM should have knowledge of most aspects of MV/HV electrical engineering – as an example, while not conducting the work, the individual should be able to review and comment on any of the below with minimal support from other engineering staff;

THE JOB:
The Engineer II is responsible for providing technical engineering information and assistance to the Senior Engineer to ensure that project complies with the project requirements and all engineering standards, applicable codes, and specifications. Knowledge of all aspects of electrical engineering and project design for renewable energy projects - Utility solar (50MW - 500MW+), distributed generation solar and BESS. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee Designers and CAD staff assigned to your work or team. In this instance, an Engineer II would feel comfortable and capable supervising a design group of 2-5 people.
Coordinate and lead weekly project design meetings
Attend project design team meetings. Interface with various team members, particularly the client, contractor/engineer.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive solar PV system designs, including array layouts, system sizing, electrical components, and balance of system (BOS) components.
Oversee Design Team during the construction to assure the operations team is provided proper and timely information for installation. This will include attendance at Owner and Contractor meetings.
Review, comment and process equipment and system submittals.

The Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) reports directly to the executive leadership and is responsible for the development and management of the company’s EHS Program. Review all installation methods for conformance to the contract documents.
Ensure all materials and equipment delivered to the site conform to the contract documents. Conduct pre-installation meetings with the safety manager and foreman prior to proceeding with new phases of installation to ensure safety and compliance with the contract documents.
Make regular site inspections, provide detailed reports noting any deficiencies in the installation and make follow up inspections to ensure corrective work is done.
Make all inspection requests and walk with inspector to ensure that all inspections are complete, approved and documented.
