Compensation: $25 per hour with a lot of OT. Our current techs work anywhere from 55-65 hrs/week. It’s not guaranteed but it’s usually the norm.
Jobs can last anywhere from a few days (to install a small machine) to a few months to over a year. We currently have large customers in Michigan and California as well as some other locations. Some companies will purchase one small machine and others may purchase 4 large machines, etc. So where they will be working all depends on the needs at the time. Italy sends over technicians to help install the machines and we already have 2 technicians employed by our company here in Kokomo. They are always on the road. If the job is close, they can travel home for the weekends. However, if it’s further away, then obviously they won’t be able to come home as often.
We do fully pay for their hotel room each night and they receive per diem (based on location – usually $35 - $50/day) plus normally we pay a travel pay for the days they are on the road. We pay 100% health and dental.
