DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The position serves as the CYP subject matter expert and advises the CYP Manager, as well as CNIC, Personnel Support Program Managers, Regional Commanders, Commanding Officers, and MWR/CYP program administrators of current and effective management practices that should be employed in the
operation of CYP activities. The position also develops and disseminates information on new initiatives and follows through to ensure that recommendations are accepted and used wherever feasible.
The position represents CNIC and actively participates in meetings and conferences covering the Navy's CYP, serves as the CNIC point of contact, chairs/co-chairs, working groups with representatives of higher echelons within the Navy, the Department of Defense, and the civilian community. These

working groups deal with complex program functions that require substantial research to develop new approaches to the way CYP services are provided and/or funded.
As required or requested, the position will conduct inspections of CYP activities, individually or in conjunction with required ongoing headquarters inspection visits, recommend appropriate corrective actions, conducts field assist visits to CNIC CYP activities and attend numerous meetings, working groups, and conferences.

DoD certification and is current with all applicable annual headquarters and local installation inspections. The position also maintains appropriate national accreditation with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Boys and Girls Clubs of America (B&GCA), National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC) , and the National After-School Alliance (NAA) .
The position evaluates the content of new or modified legislation relating to the CYP to determine the programmatic and financial impact within the CNI AOR, makes recommendations on proposed legislative changes and also translates approved legislative changes to CNIC program guidelines.
The position will also articulate the CNIC position and resolve issues through discussions with senior military and civilian personnel (06/GS-15 and above) from inter-agency (USDA, GAO, DoDEA, DOT/USCG, DOJ, NRPA, AFYMCA, IMCEA, etc.), and inter-departmental (USA, USAF, USMC, SECNAV, OSD, NAVFAC, NEXCOM, etc.), and is often called on for expertise. The position meets with senior industry personnel, including lawyers regarding contract negotiations relating to CYP. Additionally, the the position will have ad hoc contact with Congressional staffers to explain the impact upon the CYP
resulting from Congressional legislation.

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for supporting integration, test events, and field service for customers both CONUS and OCONUS (all areas of the world) for Linkabit products. When not engaged in field activities and direct customer support, the Field Service Engineer will assist the Engineering department as a Technician/Product Specialist. Qualifications:
This job requires the ability to integrate, perform first level test, operate, trouble-shoot at the top level, and repair electronic equipment and systems comprised of numerous subsystems (DC power, antennas, receivers, transceivers, laptops/software, Ethernet LAN's, etc.). Mechanical ability is required in the installation and servicing of electronic equipment mounted in vehicles. The job requires the ability to assess the needs of a customer in difficult environments and provide field expedient solutions using methods, tools and material that is on hand. Experience with the operation of SIGINT collection/processing systems is a plus. Experience with hands-on integration and operation of electronic equipment on military vehicular platforms (e.g. HMMWV) is preferred. Willingness and ability to travel globally, including to potentially hazardous locations, is required for this job, including locations outside of US Military jurisdiction.
