When not engaged in field activities and direct customer support, the Field Service Engineer will assist the Engineering department as a Technician/Product Specialist. This position will require the preparation of test procedures, reports, and associated technical documentation. The Field Service Engineer will also be expected to assist in the preparation of operator and maintenance documentation and training, and may provide training to others as an instructor. Responsibilities: • Provide advice to Squadron and Troop leadership on the capabilities, requirements, and employment of contracted personnel in support of operational requirements. • Ensure contracted personnel meet training and administrative requirements to support global deployments to include, but not limited to: International Traffic in Arms Regulations; Rules for the Use of Force per Geographic Command requirements; passport, visa, and theater and country clearance requirements; Contractor time management to ensure Contractors are available for future missions; aligning best qualified Contractors to specific tasks; develop training to fill knowledge and skill gaps; pre-/ during/ post-mission reporting and briefing requirements; and correction of identified deficiencies. • As required, deploy to conduct experience-based operational advisement covering a broad scope of tactical and operational requirements in support of both combat and theater security cooperation missions. During deployments, conducts tactical embeds with AWG Soldiers to advise units and assist them in solving immediate problems; and, to observe, analyze, and report on conventional and asymmetric threats, enemy vulnerabilities, and friendly capability gaps with the aim of improving the effectiveness of the total force. • Participate in formal and informal working groups to develop solutions to emerging trends and observed capability gaps. • ICW Government personnel execute formal and informal briefings, training, and engagements to personnel ranging from squad leader to flag officer and civilian-equivalent levels from Army, Joint, interagency, and international communities. • Provide written and verbal reports to the chain of command detailing engagements, observations, analysis, and recommendations upon completion of missions. • Advise and demonstrate knowledge of and experience in Army operational planning; conventional, SF, and international forces; tactical and operational full spectrum targeting, intelligence collection techniques; and asymmetric/irregular warfare.
