Senior Network Administrator
In this position, you will support and troubleshoot all aspects of the City's network infrastructure, support and install equipment needed to deliver Information Technology (IT) services, support the planning and design of network services, and serve as a subject matter expert in networking technologies and services. You will also ensure that our customers have consistently available and agreed to service delivery.
Typical Responsibilities
• Operate, maintain, and secure network switching/routing, virtual private network, domain name system, and wireless and firewall infrastructures
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network equipment, software, and circuits
• Track, manage, and respond to incident and request tickets; resolve within agreed SLA (service level agreements)
• Monitor and proactively discover events that may negatively impact IT services
• Implement required changes in compliance with the IT change management process
• Participate in problem management discussion to determine root cause
• Ensure network system configurations deliver or exceed agreed availability and reliability
• Maintain multiple (owned and leased) WAN (wide area network) circuits
• Develop and promote standard operating procedures and the population and use of the Knowledge Management System
• Review system logs and alerts; respond according to documented procedures
• Provide proactive process improvement, analysis of best practices, and identification and mitigation of network risks
• Analyze performance trends, identify workflow or technology gaps, and recommend changes in an effort to improve the quality and efficiency of networks, systems, and security
• Utilize enterprise-level thinking to enhance the security and stability of the network environment
• Initiate improvements within a Service Improvement Plan
• Be a change agent in ensuring that IT delivers excellent customer service; support a service management culture across the technology organization
• Support the development of estimates and Solution Design Packages by working with Solution Architects and Engineers as well as other cross-functional teams
• Implement ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) based processes and procedures; promote standard operating procedures to ensure key performance indicators are achieved
• Develop processes and procedures to meet or exceed operational SLAs with the business partners

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science, network engineering, information management, or a related field. Significant related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Five years of full-time responsible experience in the design, installation, maintenance, and engineering support of LAN (Local Area Network)/WAN systems.
Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license.
Possess, or obtain upon hire, Cisco Certified Network Associate or Professional certification.
Possess, or obtain within six months of hire, ITIL Foundations and CompTIA Security+ certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the operation and maintenance of Radio Frequency data transmission and Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Prevention System.
Experience working in a hybrid environment of on-premise, co-located, and cloud-based services.
Experience with Secure Sockets Layer certificates and Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol and LAN.
Possess CompTIA Security+ certification.
