DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Senior Staff Intelligence Observer Controller who serves as the Brigade/Battalion-level OC with the responsibility to teach, coach and mentor a company level intelligence officer/section in all aspects concerning intelligence support.
Concept: The Senior Staff Intelligence OC reports directly to the Senior Staff Coordinator, and serves as the Brigade/Battalion-level OC with the responsibility to teach, coach and mentor a company-level intelligence officer/section in all aspects concerning intelligence support. This person provides technical direction to Battalion-level in the areas of intelligence readiness, intelligence tasks, intelligence synchronization, and other intelligence support, and provides Subject Matter Expertise in the following areas:
•Military Decision Making Process (MDMP).
•Managing the Brigade/Battalion-level intelligence process.
•Managing IPB, including integration of input from other staff sections.
•Situational development to include updating the enemy/threat, terrain and weather, and civil considerations portions of the COP.
•Intelligence support to the targeting process, including participating in the targeting meetings.
•Developing high-value targets (HVT), tracking high-payoff targets (HPT).
•Providing intelligence support to IO by integrating intelligence products into IO planning and integrating IO considerations into the other intelligence tasks. Synchronizing intelligence support with combat and ISR operations through close coordination with the Commander, DCO, XO, and S3, analyzing CCIR; this includes priority intelligence requirements (PIR), friendly forces information requirements (FFIR), and other information requirements (IR) to develop collection tasks and requests from higher and adjacent units.
Additionally provides expertise in the following:•Coordination with the targeting officer to facilitate the targeting process.
•Passing of important intelligence to the FSO and units providing fire support to the force.
•Assist the Brigade/Battalion-level S2 with the ISR plan.
•Conducts AARs with Brigade/Battalion-level Intel Section.
•Provides Squad Overmatch foundational training in the areas of Advanced Situational Awareness, Team Development, and Resilience and Performance Enhancement.
•Plans and conducts leader development to ensure Training Support Team maintains proficiency.
•Assist in planning and development of realistic Unified Land Operations, Combined Arms Live Fire Exercises and Convoy Live Fire Exercises.
•Plans and develops the execution of a formal training and certification program.
•Augments the Training Support Team ISO USARCENT Theatre Security Cooperation Plan and must be prepared to deploy anywhere throughout the USCENTCOM AOR.
•Perform additional duties as prescribed by the Site/Exercise Support Manager and Senior Staff Coordinator.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in preparing and planning maneuver training exercises for a Brigade/Battalion or higher (Infantry/Armor) organization.
•Combat Training Center experience.
•Thorough knowledge of the military decision making process (MDMP).
•Thorough knowledge of current Army doctrine, Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs).
•Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related work experience. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement
· Position requires CRC attendance
· Must meet CENTCOM medical deployment requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Former Division G-2 and below experience; BN/TF S-2 experience preferred.
•Former U.S. Army/Marine Corps Infantry/Armor Field Grade Officer (LTC/above) or BCT-level and above Command Sergeant Major.
•Graduate of USASMA/CGSC and/or US Army War College or equivalent.
•Prior assignment to a maneuver CTC as an Observer/Controller or extensive CTC experience as BLUFOR/OPFOR.
