2. Distributed Tactical Communications System (DTCS) Field Service Representative (FSR) (OCONUS)

Position Description

Solutions Development Corporation (SDC) is the prime on the DTCS Operations and Maintenance contract with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). DTCS is a satellite communication program that leverages the Iridium satellite constellation to operate a newly developed push-to-talk radio.



As delivery of the DTCS handsets begins to increase dramatically over the summer of 2010, SDC will have a need for numerous Field Service Representatives (FSRs) who are willing to spend from 4-12 months at a time in theater to brief senior military leadership, train the military forces and install radios on numerous military vehicle types. Former military communicators and communication technicians and trainers are preferred but not required. Prior deployed time to Iraq and/or Afghanistan is a plus also. All prospective candidates must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Required to select, apply, interpret and adapt electronic principles/practices related to specialty measurement areas of electrical standards, waveform analysis, microwave, tactical navigation and physical/dimensional knowledge areas. Candidate must be able to troubleshoot/repair complex TMDE and integrated electronic systems utilizing theories of operation, block diagrams, schematics, logic trees and software diagnostics. Candidate is expected to accurately record/report maintenance actions/data using maintenance data collection systems, guidance and policies. Applicant must be able to create /prepare test/certification reports for customer use, provide information on assigned values, correction and certainties over a specified range of circumstances for certified TMDE.
