Job Description

Serco North America is looking for an Engineer/Technician for the Red Switch
at the Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs. The Defense Red Switch
Network (DRSN) is a secure/non-secure conferencing network that provides
mission critical voice and data communications for operational commands,
senior level DoD and Office of the Secretary of Defense leadership to plan
and implement wartime and peacetime operations. The work center is
responsible for maintaining the DRSN and its sub-systems on a 24/7 basis
with rotating shifts. DRSN support will cover overall maintenance tracking
and reporting outage isolation responsibilities at Peterson AFB and remote
locations; switch operation and administration; scheduled, unscheduled,
corrective maintenance, fault isolation and restoration at remote locations;
DRSN telephone installations, relocations, removals and replacements; all
DRSN cryptographic device configurations, operation and maintenance; system
and office upgrades; and system accreditation for all IAW DISA guidance and
technical manuals.

Required Experience

* Position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance
* High School or equivalent with Eight to Ten years of general
experience or Two to Four years with College Degree
* Completion of ESI SDS and/or RSU Switch or a Digital Small Switch
(DSS) maintenance training certification is preferred
* Strong customer relations skills and overall communications skills
are mandatory
* O&M or engineering experience with DRSN systems in particular is
highly desirable
* Cryptographic training in KG-194, 94, 84, 81 and KIV-7 highly
desirable
* Experience with test equipment such as: Fireberd test units,
oscilloscopes and multimeters are desirable
* Will also consider candidates with applicable Tech Control, SATCOM,
Wide Band and Circuit experience

PURPOSE OF JOB: Assist the strategy, creation, writing, and delivery of marketing and communications activities to support the Filanc vision, mission and revenue objectives. Our client, a major sporting goods manufacturer has asked us to fill the following need:
 
JOB SUMMARY
• Develop and execute global-sourcing strategies for the electronics (integrated devices) commodity via multi-functional team leadership. Plan and implement activities for timely, cost-effective procurement, planning and on-time delivery of electronics products. Responsible for supply chain readiness on all new product introductions and also own the end of life process in supply base and the internal planning required to support this. Manage supplier quality and engineering capabilities and their application in the support of managing quality, cost, delivery and technical excellence.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategic Supplier Management
• Lead supplier sourcing, evaluation and selection, negotiation, performance monitoring, relationship management, and continuous improvement.
• Commodity specific liaison with R&D Integrated Devices community to align sourcing strategy with product life cycle technology roadmaps.
• Set and meet TQRACE (Technology, Quality, Responsiveness, Availability, Cost, & Environmental) objectives for the suppliers / programs within the scope of the role.
• Develop and maintaining strong global supplier relationships, including supplier site visits and relationships at all levels of their organization.
• Track and report on supplier strategies, monitoring spend, business allocation, capability gap analysis and facilitate cross-functional review and evaluation
• Develop strategies for the mitigation of risk in the supply chain, overall and for specific new product programs
• Provide benchmarking studies and market analysis.
• Negotiate annual buys & long term agreements for components and raw material.
• Organize and lead regular strategic supplier business reviews.
• Technical Leadership of Supply base
• Provides expertise in quality systems, business process, and manufacturing improvements as well as quality tools and training.
• Along with related functional resources in Design, Quality, Process Engineering, or otherwise as necessary, manages root cause failure analysis and work with suppliers to effectively implement the appropriate corrective actions.
• Manages supplier development of procedures, evaluation of quality systems and recommends changes to specifications.
• Coordinates test plan creation and implementation for suppliers.
• Participates with supplier in FMEA, process capability, control plans, measurement systems, sub-supplier qualification, supplier part approval process, plans supplier qualifications and manages supplier development projects.
• New Program Development
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Knowledge in various manufacturing processes of electronic components. It would also be advantageous to have experience in plastics and plastics processes.
• Application knowledge in GD&T, SPC tools, GR&R & FMEA. .
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university; or 7-10 years related experience and/or training/ or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma theory and practice
• Purchasing in a Manufacturing/Engineered Product environment.
• Interfacing with manufacturing engineering and program management teams.
• Experience in executing Global Supply Chain initiatives & strategic planning.
• Experience in global procurement and sourcing.
