Required Qualifications (must have): * BS degree in Computer Science or comparable experience. * Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to positively interact with both technical and business-oriented team members. * A solid understanding, skills and familiarity of database technologies utilizing Oracle 10g /Oracle 10g AS, the Oracle 10g tool sets, Visual Basic, MS Access, Microsoft SQL, SQL Loader, SQL Query, Oracle Discoverer, Portals, and Oracle InterMedia; Interbase; MYSQL or other major RDBMSs and data mapping processes. * Must be familiar with database organization and design, table structures and data schema, logical and physical design, reports and forms development, naming conventions and other issues related to systems planning and data migration. * An understanding of standard DoD systems and system architecture including: CHCS, the CliniComp Clinical Information System (CIS) Essentris, COLLECTOR Trauma Registry System, Joint Theater Trauma Registry (JTTR) System, and other systems unique to the Department of Defense medical healthcare system, Brooke Army Medical Center and the Institute of Surgical Research (ISR). * Abilities in the areas of clinical, laboratory and automation, in a variety of settings that may include the hospital ward, clinic, laboratory, surgery suites and/or other settings in which data are either collected or presented and integration to Oracle database architectures. * Working knowledge and experience with database information security and integrity, including applying security patches, verifying and managing storage, maintaining database accounts, and performing database backups and recovery in case of problems. * Expertise with complex queries for database structures in the research/medical community and data extractors/miners utilizing PL/SQL, Java, Powerbuilder, Oracle Discoverer and other query tools to provide complex datasets for medical/clinical research analysis. * Experience with using Microsoft applications: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access, Oracle Data bases, and web-based applications. * Web languages: XML, Java, Perl, C++ Candidate must be a US citizen and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
