49. Java Developer (Falls Church, VA)
Employment start date: Immediate
Tesla Government Inc. is a rapidly-growing government-contracting firm based in Falls Church, VA. Our projects are primarily in support of the Foreign Affairs and National Security communities. We develop and implement secured systems that improve information sharing between the US Government and its trusted partners. Most of our employees have security clearances, but the positions we are currently seeking to fill have no clearance requirement at present. We sponsor our employees for security clearances when required by the specific task.
Tesla offers health benefits, 401k contribution matching, competitive compensation, and performance bonuses.
We are looking for outstanding Java developers to work on a US Government program that supports information exchange in Afghanistan using a secure website. The program is now being expanded to make the website accessible to other government agencies, foreign government partners, and military units in other regions of the world. The expansion will require significant reworking of the codebase and the timeline is extremely short. We will likely be using an Agile development approach for this phase of the project and are looking for developers who are comfortable working in a small team with tight deadlines and short development cycles. While the principle users of the system will be overseas, no overseas travel for the development team is anticipated. Experience completing projects for US Government is desirable but not essential.
Position Qualifications:
• A minimum of 1 to 2 years of development experience using Java with proficiency in J2EE, JavaScript, HTML, and SQL
• Mobile application (iPhone and Android) development experience is desirable
• Familiarity with the Eclipse development environment
• Knowledge of Hibernate and Spring and subversion
• Solid understanding of relational database management systems such as MySQL
• Experience using web services and building service-oriented architectures
To apply for this position, please email your cover letter and resume to hr@teslagovernment.com. Your cover letter should include a brief (one paragraph) description of a development project on which you have worked, your role in that project, and the outcome. If you have a code sample from a project or programming class that you can attach, that would also be helpful.
Regards,
Elizabeth Lee
