Job Number 1200KW4: The candidate for this position will be required to perform troubleshooting, installation, maintenance, repair, modification, inspection and testing of a variety of aircraft egress systems, and components such as ejection seats, canopies, escape hatches, and explosive devices. These operations are also performed on a variety of other Life Support Systems equipment, such as aircrew flight equipment, full pressure suits, parachute/harness systems, life rafts, and survival kits, etc. The Technician will also maintain and inspect breathing oxygen systems, and related components. The Life Support Technician will be responsible for conducting Sewing Machine maintenance – (Inspect, clean, lubricate, repair, adjust and operate sewing machines), and the Fabrication and Manufacture of support accessories – (Design and layout patterns, manufacture templates, fabricate cloth, rubber impregnated cloth, webbing items and protective covers. Sew name tags, patches, pockets, seams, rips or tears in fabric and repair of aircraft interior fabric surfaces). They will also inspect, clean, remove and replace fasteners, grommets, snaps, slide, rivets, and Velcro tape as required. The technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying packs and adjusting aircrew life sustaining equipment not limited to but includes: flight helmets, oxygen masks, parachutes, flotation devices, survival kits, aircrew night-vision goggles, anti-G garments, high altitude full pressure suits, explosives, ejection seats, canopies, hatches and oxygen systems. The Life support Technician will repair malfunctions as a result of troubleshooting, and adjust the aircraft egress systems to conform to specifications, or modification in accordance with technical orders and modification instructions. They will isolate malfunctions on life support systems using various types of test equipment, and repair or replace components as required using the latest technical data. They will then make operational and functional checks and adjusts to the effected systems as required. Qualifications & Requirements: Five (5) years experience as Aircrew Life Support Technician required Must provide documentation of successful completion of formal Egress school Must have Parachute rigger license Must have Fabricator experience Ejection seat skills required Experience on F-15, F-18 desired Airframe and Power plant license a plus.
