33. The RecruitMilitary Philadelphia Opportunity Expo will now take place on Thursday, November 29th
In light of the effects of Hurricane Sandy across the East Coast, we have just made the decision to reschedule this week's Philadelphia RecruitMilitary Opportunity Expo.
The RecruitMilitary Philadelphia Opportunity Expo will now take place on Thursday, November 29th from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the Lincoln Financial Field (The "Linc").
We decided to reschedule the event for two big reasons:
1. Safety – The safety of our exhibitors and our veterans is of paramount importance to us. After evaluating the news about the weather, power outages, and potential problems with transportation, we decided that there were too many risks and unknowns to move forward with producing the event this week.
2. The "Experience" – We talked with 13 of the 40+ companies scheduled to attend. 7 of these 13 told us they had already decided not to attend the event. Assuming this percentage was applied to the total group, that means more than half of the exhibitors would not be able to attend. Likewise, we believe many of the veterans and military spouses in the area may very well be dealing with flooded basements, power outages, work and family issues, and a host of other big priorities on Thursday.
For those of you in the states being affected by this storm, know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Also, we appreciate the service of all those in the National Guard who may be called out to assist the citizens in their states.
Finally, we've already pre-registered the veterans who were registered for the November 29th Opportunity Expo. This means they'll automatically get reminder emails as this new date gets closer. This gives us another month to get a lot more exhibitors to attend, and we look forward to ensuring a great experience for the veterans you serve.
Here is a link to the flyer for you to distribute https://events.recruitmilitary.com/uploads/event/attendee_poster/457/Printable_Flyer_Philadelphia_11.1.12.pdf
Please let me know if there is anything else I can provide you about this event, and look forward to working with you and the veterans you serve.
Best Regards,
