Job Description
The Relay Control Specialist Senior supports Colorado Springs Utilities
substations by installing, testing, repairing and maintaining a wide variety
of electronic, protective relaying, control, and energy management systems
and equipment. This employee is part of the team that conducts mandated NERC
testing and compiles documentation to prove compliance.
Typical Responsibilities
* Installing, calibrating, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting,
tuning, and repairing critical protection and control systems, with emphasis
on quality assurance for the following systems or equipment:
* Relay, relay and control systems, and high-speed
communication assisted relay schemes (electro-mechanical, solid state, and
microprocessor-based)
* Transmission protection devices
* Distribution protection devices
* Substation protection devices
* Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems
* Control systems, logic controllers, operating systems via
serial and networked communications
* System performance monitoring equipment (e.g., fault
recorders, SERs, and power quality monitors)
* Analog and digital instrumentation and monitoring equipment
* Power line carrier equipment
* Revenue metering and ancillary devices at interconnection

* Recommending, modifying, and installing new hardware and software
components and/or systems
* Assisting design engineers in reviewing, developing, and maintaining
detailed drawing packages and documentation as needed to modify circuitry
for various installations, upgrades, and improvements
* Assuming lead role on equipment installation during commissioning of
projects
* Complying with the safety and health program in support of an
incident and injury free workplace

this role, support will be provided to the Surface Navy's Training and

candidate will provide proactive support in monitoring ship replication to
shore side servers. They will identify, research, and resolve technical
issues with all TORIS applications, data replication, and NIAPS. They will

•SME will support the counterintelligence operations analysis and security operations in order to provide the Defense Minister and the national leadership with information needed to achieve national level counterintelligence objectives and implement counterintelligence policy consistent to the national military strategy.
•SME will assist with development, management, and tasking to sustain a strategic counterintelligence capability in order to protect the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan against subversion, sabotage, espionage, and threats to the Ministry of Defense.
•SME will focus on improving Assistant Ministry of Defense counterintelligence management and synchronization of personnel to collect and analyze hostile threats, sabotage, and counterespionage information.
•SME will facilitate developmental roundtables with the Counterintelligence Deputy and his staff to focus on identification and implementation of policy and doctrinal solutions to remedy counterintelligence problems identified in the collection and analysis of hostile threats, sabotage, and espionage.
•Deliverables include:
o Assist Afghan National Army Assistant Ministry of Defense-Intelligence Counterintelligence Directorate in establishing a capability to conduct counterintelligence operations to include reporting of collection information using secure communications or the approved communications means available, and submission of required reports through established channels and approved formats.
o Assist Assistant Ministry of Defense-Intelligence Counterintelligence Directorate in developing sustainable methods for assigning investigations to include personnel security investigations procedures based upon counterintelligence review of personnel security questionnaires.
o Assist and provide training on military counterintelligence operations with emphasis on source operations to include source placement, access and collection strategies based upon analysis requirements.
o Maintain close coordination with the ANA G2 Intelligence Collection Directorate and Counterintelligence Directorate to de-conflict counterintelligence and Human Intelligence requirements, sources and collection strategies.
o Monitor counterintelligence mission management of subordinate counterintelligence elements, analysis and quality control of counterintelligence reporting.
o Monitor preparation and submission of counterintelligence reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must meet all physical, medical and other requirements for overseas deployment in accordance with current DoD regulations. Candidate must possess a fitness level appropriate to performing work in a field environment and current medical exam completed within the past 12 months. Candidate must have been tested and present proof of a negative HIV test result performed within six months of deployment. Dental and medical readiness must be up to date and candidate must maintain a current US Passport. Candidate must hold a current SECRET Level Security Clearance (Previously granted and never revoked or suspended).
