Description
Job Summary
Supervise train crews on a freight train and coordinate switch engine crews. Place cars to facilitate loading and unloading and the makeup and breakdown of trains in a rail yard, industrial plant, or similar locations.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with all train orders, signals, and railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations, and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA)
• Review instructions from dispatchers and yardmasters, and discuss with locomotive engineer and train crew
• Inspect all equipment on cars prior to departures
• Receive and transmit information by radio and telephone
• Read and understand bulletins, work orders, and switch lists
• Assist and instruct train crews to couple and uncouple cars, operate switches, and make minor repairs to railcars, including replacing heavy couplings or air brake hoses
• Work with customers to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars
• Maintain awareness of surrounding area and suspicious activity to ensure rail safety
• Operate locomotive equipment through the use of remote control device
• Quickly and repeatedly make precise adjustments in moving the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions
• Comprehend color and/or hand signals and systems
Pay Rate
$43,000 average first year earnings.
Training
You will attend six weeks of training at the Railroad Education & Development Institute (REDI) in Atlanta, GA. CSX will pay for travel, lodging and meals. You will complete an additional 8-22 weeks of on-the-job training at your assigned location as required by collective bargaining agreement.

In this position, you will be responsible for providing technical and professional program support toward successful accomplishment of the Mitigation Division goals and objectives. You will provide senior level program analysis and assistance to develop, plan, improve and implement new initiatives, special projects and agency administrative processes and procedures. Typical work assignment include:
• Facilitates mitigation and floodplain management division priorities, goals and objectives through multi-year and annual strategic and operational plan development for mitigation and floodplain management regional program delivery that is consistent with national, Department, Agency and Regional policies and priorities.
• Coordination of the budget and financial management for the Mitigation division, including the annual development and submission of resource requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate regional mitigation capabilities and progress of work, select and apply appropriate program evaluation and measurement techniques in determining extent of program accomplishments, and summarize data for quarterly and annual reporting.
• Represents the Division Director on special projects/issues and/or task force assignments and coordinates functions with other organizational components.
• Plans and prepares in-depth, complex analytical reports, orientations and briefings or other working documents related to complex FEMA National Flood Insurance Program and mitigation program.

The Enterprise Risk Assessment will be conducted in the context of an Enterprise-Wide Data Security Compliance Program with the goal of producing a process and documentation framework to support cyclical risk analysis, risk management and compliance documentation in support of their strategic mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The VCR II in the State Strike Team "A" is a journey level class in the Veterans Services Division (VSD) District Office. Under the direction and supervision of the VSD District Office Manager, the VCR II provides assistance on behalf of veterans, their dependents and survivors by evaluating and developing case files and presenting claims for benefits administered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA). These claims primarily involve compensation for service-related disabilities, pension for non-service related disabilities and dependency and indemnity compensation. This work requires a thorough knowledge, and the analysis of, federal laws, regulations, policies and procedures regarding veteran benefits, as they apply to individual cases. It requires the ability to reason logically and creatively and to utilize a variety of techniques in the analysis of evidence necessary for successful USDVA decisions. The VCR II must be able to assist the veteran or survivor in the collection, evaluation, and preparation of evidence for the development of claims. The incumbent must attain and maintain USDVA accreditation in accordance with Title 38 of the U.S. Code and the Code of Federal Regulations.

: Qualified Journeyman Wireman Electrician with the following minimum requirements:
- State Certified Journeyman Wireman Electrician
- U.S. DoD SECRET Clearance (MUST ALREADY BE CLEARED)
- All of the electricians shall have applicable knowledge of the National Electrical Code and Unified Facilities Criteria.
