Title: Joint SOF Exercise Planner Location: Yongsan, Korea SR# 2013-0056 RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as a Joint SOF Exercise Planner supporting the design and execution of Republic of Korea (ROK) theater SOF exercises. Duties and responsibilities to include, but not limited to, the following: Perform as a Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) planner and coordinator for all aspects of the JELC which includes: Exercise Design; Planning; Preparation; Execution; and Analysis for assigned SOF exercises. Coordinate within the JS J7, USPACOM, and USSOCOM exercise process. Facilitate the development of the SOCKOR, component, and participating nation’s training objectives. Develop a JELC Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M). Plan, organize, and coordinate exercise participants’ participation to include Joint SOF, Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC), Combined Unconventional Warfare Task Force (CUWTF), Interagency, Conventional Forces, and Joint Service enablers within the SOF exercise program. Develop exercise control and architecture plans. Develop Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) structure to support assigned SOF exercises. Facilitate and lead scenario development and execution that involves National and Geographic Commander (GCC) level guidance and TSOC operational requirements. Develop, prepare, staff, and publish administrative/exercise directives, control documents, and reports as required by the JELC. Support the planning and integration of OPFOR/SITFOR participants. CONUS and OCONUS travel required as necessary. Travel is usually no longer than 14-days in duration. Integrate Role Player support as required. Provide detailed trip reports. REQUIREMENTS: • B.S. in Military/Political Science or General Management with related military experience or other related field of study or 15 years of experience in the above will be considered • Command and General Staff College or enlisted equivalent preferred. • Former SOF Officer/Warrant Officer or senior NCO with at least 10-years of SOF experience (required). • SME at USFK/SOCKOR operations • SME at JSOTF/SOTF/CUWTF level through the TSOC level (required). • Prior operational experience at the SOTF level or above desired. • Demonstrated ability to coordinate with exercise staffs at the Theater Special Operations Command (TSOC), SOCOM component, and USFK, and PACOM component level to effectively support realistic scenarios that facilitate SOF readiness and interoperability. • Knowledge of the JELC process IAW with JS J7 Event Handbook 2012. • Familiar with exercise planning and execution including the development of training scenarios and Master Scenario Events Lists (MSELs) (highly desired) • Capability of drafting all SOF exercise requirements • Familiar with the Joint Training Information Management System ( JTIMS) to support training event planning, coordination, execution, review, and analysis.
