For our construction crews the Groundman or Truck Driver is a first year employee with no or very limited high voltage electrical experience. The next steps in the career progression are C Lineman, B Lineman, A Lineman, and Foreman. C Linemen usually have 1-2 years’ experience, B lineman 2-3 years, and A Linemen have 4-5 years’ experience. A Class A CDL is a huge hiring incentive for most of my managers. Over 2/3 of our new hires already have a Class A CDL or a CDL Permit when hired.

In Engineering we are seeking graduates of ABET accredited engineering programs to fill Engineer I, II, and III roles. For those who may have attended a non-accredited program or who have a 2 or 4 year technical degree we usually hire them as Power Engineering Technologist or Designer I, II, or III. GIS and CAD Technician positions may only require a few classes or demonstrated experience.
