Facilities, Trades, and Campus Operations

Building Automations Systems Technician, Campus Planning and Facilities

This position monitors, operates, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots and replaces pneumatic, electric, electronic and direct digital controls systems for campus HVAC building controls, lighting controls and building control system network. Salary range $50,000 - $60,000.

 

Chilled Water Plant Supervisor, Campus Planning and Facilities

Serving as a member of the energy management team, the chilled water plant supervisor is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of campus chilled water systems to include chillers, cooling towers, pumps, controls, chemical treatment systems, and communications with the building automation system. Salary range $67,000 - $72,000.

 

Fleet Services Customer Services Agent, Administrative & Business Services

The Customer Service Agent for Fleet Services will serve as the first point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and visitors to Fleet Services. This position reports to the Operations Coordinator and is responsible and accountable for Fleet Services’ front-desk operations, including greeting all customers and visitors and answering the main telephone line. Salary range $33,000 - $35,000.

 

Lead Security Center RepresentativeAdministrative & Business Services

The Lead Security Center Representative provides leadership to the center and security, safety, and community services to University employees, students, and visitors. Salary range $40,000 - $42,000.

 

Operations Manager, Student Affairs

The Operations Manager for Student Engagement and Campus Life provides oversight and leadership of Squires Student Center, Johnston Student Center, Graduate Life Center, and Owens’ Ballroom. They will ensure the Student Centers are affirming and welcoming environment as well as the central programming venues for student life.

 

Power Plant Electrician, Campus Planning, Infrastructure, & Facilities

Reporting to the Instrumentation/Electrical Supervisor, the Power Plant Electrician is responsible for performing troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of plant electrical control systems and equipment with voltages of 480V 3 Phase, 208V 3 Phase,120V single phase, 130 VDC, and 24 VDC.

 

Security Center Representative, Administrative & Business Services

The Security Center Representative provides security, safety and community services to University employees, students, and visitors. Salary is $29,150.

Human Resources

Benefits Project Coordinator, Human Resources

The Benefits Project Coordinator provides support across all areas of the Benefits team within the Division of Human Resources. The Coordinator will assist with processing benefits enrollment for health insurance, retirement, and other benefits and will provide counseling and guidance to answer benefits related questions. Salary range $35,000 - $45,000.

 

Benefits Coordinator, Human Resources

This entry-level position supports the Worker’s Compensation and Health Insurance areas within benefits. Salary range $33,000 - $38,000.

 

Benefits Specialist – Employee Orientation & Optional Benefits, Human Resources

This position is an integral part of the HR team, facilitating new employee orientation for the university and also handling all optional benefit enrollment. Salary range $40,000 - $47,000.

 

Compensation Analyst (remote opportunity), Human Resources

Under the direction of the Compensation Director, the Compensation Analyst performs a variety of responsible professional, technical and analytical classification and compensation activities related to the development and administration of the University compensation policies and programs. Salary range $50,000 - $65,000.

 

Human Resources Generalist, Student Affairs

The HR Generalist coordinates, coaches, and executes HR activities in the functional areas of recruitment, selection, onboarding, performance management, talent development, retention, offboarding, etc. for the Division of Student Affairs. Salary range $46,000 - $48,000.

Information Technology & Data

Business Support Systems Developer, Senior VP & Chief Business Officer

The Business Support Systems Developer participates in the assessment and implementation of information technology and decision support solutions for the President, Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer, and Executive VP and Provost senior management areas. Position will provide both technical and non-technical expertise in the development and maintenance of business systems and processes, and the development of business intelligence collection and reporting. Salary range $55,000 - $65,000.

 

IT Security Software Developer, Information Technology

The IT Security Software Developer position, reporting to the Director of Security Architecture, will develop and maintain security tools and integrations that track and report security metrics, monitor open service ports across the university IP space, scan high risk systems for vulnerabilities, and other functions critical to maintaining a safe and security computing environment at Virginia Tech.

 

Junior Systems Administrator, Student Affairs

Serve as support member of a technical team that services over 900 computer workstations, printers, laptops, and Apple devices utilized by 1200 departmental users accessing Student Affairs network resources. Provide technical support to departmental users and assure that IT security guidelines and best practices are followed consistently and effectively.

 

Medical, Veterinary, and Life Sciences

 

Certified Nursing Assistant or LPN, (part-time), Liberal Arts and Human Sciences

Virginia Tech Adult Day Services is looking for part-time CNA's and LPN's to support the needs of its older adult participants. Great staff to participant ratio (1:6) and flexible hours between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

 

Animal Care Technician, Research

This position is responsible and accountable for the daily provision of animal husbandry and care at an ARCD facility (vivarium) or facilities.

 

Animal Care and Operations Supervisor, Research

In support of Virginia Tech's growing research enterprise, the Office of the University Veterinary (OUV) is seeking an Animal Care and Operations Supervisor. The individual serves in a leadership position within the Laboratory Animal Resources unit of OUV, and will be responsible and accountable for managing daily operations and activities involved with the provision of animal husbandry and care at a LAR facility (vivarium) or facilities.

The Accounting manager leads a team of 20 professional and clerical employees in electronic accounts payable processing. Salary range $80,000 - $105,000.

 

Accounts Payable Analyst, Finance

Looking to develop your fiscal skills and work with a dynamic team? Explore this opportunity with the Controller's Office and launch your career. Salary range $35,000 – $40,000.

 

Business Manager, Liberal Arts & Human Sciences

The Business Manager is responsible for planning, allocation, and monitoring of all English department funds; assisting the department chair in drafting the department operating budget each fiscal year; and performing monthly reconciliations, preparing reports to ensure spending is on track with initial projections. Salary range $40,000 - $50,000.

 

Buyer, Finance

This position will lead and oversee the efforts to advertise, evaluate, negotiate and award competitive solicitations for goods and services of the University. This position is responsible for analyzing vendor sources and historical spend on a range of commodities and services, and will also identify new strategic contract opportunities. Salary range $45,000 - $60,000.

 

Communications Coordinator, Liberal Arts & Human Sciences

This position will work with the department head and department promotions committee to develop and produce products that will promote the AHRM department and its programs to students, alumni, and other external audiences through social media, digital brochures and newsletters, department reports, and news articles. Salary range $38,000 - $47,000.

The Office of Research and Innovation is seeking a creative visual storyteller to join the marketing and communications team to produce, shoot, and edit video and still photos of research activities for external and internal audiences. The Content Creator is a driven and imaginative storyteller who performs various functions of digital video production from concept to completion.

Executive Management & Faculty Leadership

Assistant Director, Talent Search, Outreach & International Affairs

Reporting directly to the TRIO Programs Director, the assistant director is responsible for assisting with the administration, implementation and continuation of the U.S. Department of Education funded Talent Search/ TRIO project. This project serves 680 participants in 24 middle and high schools within a two-hour radius of Blacksburg. Talent Search serves students who meet income eligibility guidelines, are potential first-generation college students, and/or demonstrate a need for services. Salary range up to $57,000.

 

Assistant Director, Roanoke Regional Initiatives, Outreach & International Affairs

This position develops and delivers outreach programs, provides business development opportunities, nurtures and expands industry & community relationships, monitors effectiveness of programs, and ensures compliance with laws and policies. Salary range up to $70,000.

 

Executive Director of Roanoke Regional Initiatives, Outreach & International Affairs

This seasoned, trailblazer will be able to capitalize on the remarkable possibilities ahead for the region in the following sectors: manufacturing, utilities, healthcare, local government, and finance. As the lead administrator for Roanoke Regional Initiatives, the successful candidate will develop and articulate a strategic vision for Outreach and International Affairs broadly across Virginia Tech and the region.
