The Advanced Technical Instructor's primary role is to conduct
classroom, vehicle, and scenario-based training. The instructor's
responsibilities primarily include all aspects of instruction and the
learning experience of students. Additionally, the instructor may also
function concurrently as the program coordinator or as a
content-creator/curriculum-developer. Instructors will collaborate with
faculty, staff, students, and clients to design, develop, deliver,
evaluate, and modify courses. ETS Instructors will also provide on-going
support to other instructors, as well as to students both past and
present. Instructors should expect to provide a learning experience via
online, hybrid, and traditional delivery methods. Instructors should
have a general understanding of academic goals and pedagogy, as well as

About the Role: The Violent Extremist Organization (VEO) and
Counterterrorism Functional SME will assist in developing, fact-finding,
and providing advice, opinions, and recommendations on National Security

Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:

execution of strategic and operational war games, related seminars, and
workshops.
Advise the Joint Staff (JS) and Combatant Commander (CCDR) staffs during
operational planning and analysis to provide optimal recommendations for
the employment of Air Force capabilities against operational challenges
associated with VEOs and terrorism.
Recommend the actions necessary to support a variety of major missions
and operational plans associated with VEOs and counterterrorism.
Provide SME level support on the establishment, revisions, and reviews
of operational plans, policies, procedures, mission objectives, and
organizational design for the staff, eliminating problems or barriers to
mission accomplishment with respect to countering VEOs and terrorism.
Support customer interactions with senior management at the Colonel, GO,
and SES level as they participate in a variety of organizations and
groups within and outside the U.S. Air Force to include OSD, JCS, CCMDs,
MAJCOMs, NAFs and interjacencies.
Experience Requirements:
Ten (10) years combined federal (DoD or DoS) experience with five (5)
years total experience at MAJCOM, HAF or JS/CCMD J2/3/5/8.
Shall possess multiple in-country experience working Violent Extremist
Organization (VEO) or counterterrorism Pol-Mil issues with allies or
partner nations in one or more of the following fields: Security
Cooperation, Defense Policy, Alliance Management, Ministry of
Defense/Joint Staff Liaison, Force Development, or Burden Sharing.
Experience preparing U.S. Flag and General Officers for Congressional
testimony on combating or countering Violent Extremist Organizations
(VEOs) and/or terrorism.
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree(s) from an accredited university or equivalent service
academy is required.
Education shall have an emphasis in studies, courses, or training with
understanding and/or combating VEOs or terrorism.
Major in areas such as regional studies, history, international
affairs/relations, or national security/policy desired.
Masters degree or Doctorate desired.
Master's degree (MA) or Doctorate (PhD) is desired.
Certificate, License, and Registration Requirements:
Shall have attendance and/or course completion certification and/or work

team of operations officers, analysts, and linguists, focused on
identifying, analyzing and mitigating the technical threats to
operations posed by Ubiquitous Technical Surveillance (UTS).
Role and Responsibilities:
  *
    Serve as a Technical Operations Analyst and technical subject matter
    expert on emerging UTS technologies.
  * Responsible for responding to high-priority, high-visibility, and
    time-sensitive customer requirements requiring critical thinking and
    complex problem-solving skills.
  * Demonstrate proficiency integrating technical requirements,
    analytical tradecraft, and operational risk management techniques to
    assess technical threats to sensitive activities, and intelligence
    operations.
  * Identify and analyze UTS capability gaps in specific environments

Qualifications

Operations Commands (TSOCs), USSOUTHCOM J3, JTF 4.0, components, and
subordinate staffs to facilitate inclusion of IRCs to achieve effects
and Methods of Effectiveness (MOE) inclusion into SOCSOUTH CTN OAIs and
the development of strategic & operational-level plans.
? Serve as the J35 Future Plans Division primary continuity into JTF 4.0
and the USSOUTHCOM J3/J35. The SME will assist in the development of
products that support coordination and integration of IRCs to achieve
TCP desired effects.
? Provide assistance in the development of long-term plans, implementing
and finalizing support to future operations.
? Assist and coordinate with the J5 in the development of assessment
solutions to achieve operational objectives and facilitate strategic
long-term planning.
? Maintain a high level of situational awareness for all activities
occurring within the Division?s spheres of influence.
? Serve as the Division?s liaison to the Regional Fusion Division (RFD),
J38 Joint Effects Division (JED), and other J3 entities on all plans and
future operations in the USSOUTHCOM AOR.
? Assist in the compilation, analysis, and completion of Theatre
Campaign Assessments in coordination with J2, J5, J7 and other SOCSOUTH
Directorates.
? Assist the senior contract program manager (SCPM) for all JOD/J3
activities occurring
within a given timeframe to include report compilation.
Qualifications:
? 10 years prior military experience, experience working in a SOF
headquarters required.
? 3 years USSOUTHCOM AOR experience
? Served a minimum of 2 years in an operational and/or strategic level
headquarters (O-6 HQs or above) demonstrating familiarity and experience
with the Joint Planning Process or Service equivalent planning process.
? Must possess and maintain a current TS/SCI clearance.
