Qualifications:

* General computer experience, managing and directing staff,

Preferred Additional Skills:

The JSEAS effort is a joint venture among the US Navy, US Air Force, and UK Ministry of Defense to develop safe escape and mission planning products for the JSF aircraft.
The JSEAS Software Developer will perform a variety of software development and maintenance activities for the Joint Safe Escape Analysis Solution (JSEAS) program. The focus for this position will be the design, development, unit test, and documentation of object oriented software sub-systems.
The Developer will apply documented project processes and tools to ensure that quality standards for development and configuration management are applied to the JSEAS software development effort. Ensures that mission critical data backups are performed on appropriate systems. Performs restoration of critical data as required. Monitors and evaluates system auditing events. Evaluates LAN hardware and software requirements and capabilities and makes recommendations for procurement and deployment. Establishes documentation standards for network infrastructure. Builds, configures, and deploys client/server environments. Coordinates computer and equipment life cycle scheduling with site customer, ensuring equipment supportability is being maintained for both hardware and software applications. Troubleshoots and replaces network (LAN/WAN) hardware equipment. Creates, manages and issues computer user accounts. Provides software and hardware familiarization overview to users. Coordinates third-party maintenance of network equipment and troubleshoots problems with department users and department LAN Administrators. Helps to develop uniform operating procedures (OIs) for administering LANs and associated equipment. Provides maintenance support as required and acts as liaison to other contractors during site visits to deploy or upgrade mission systems.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (duties and responsibilities and percentage of time spent performing functions).
Perform as a senior technical participant with knowledge and experience in local and wide area networking, communications, and related software/hardware within a multi-platform operating environment. Responsible for the integration of a total network including the planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the corporate LAN/WAN. Current on technological developments and applications, and evaluate vendor products to make recommendations for purchase. Maintains data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers or for a single group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe. Responsible for system security and data integrity. Assigns passwords and monitors use of resources, backs up files as required and responds to management requests for information. Provides technical guidance to lesser-experienced systems administrators. Recommend network security and policies.

Applicant must be able to demonstrate experience in the following area to be considered for the position: Microsoft 2000, XP and 2003. Also, have experience with Exchange 2003, Veritas software and creating ghost images. Must have at least a familiarity with routing hardware and protocols, WAN technologies, Firewall and gateway hardware and operations, as well as network security to include Confidentiality, Integrity, and availability. Must possess the skills necessary to build, diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software network system problems on a server or workstation.

A Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field, and five to seven years of relevant experience are required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES (requirements to perform job satisfactorily, i.e. basic computer or math skills, or specific software knowledge, 10-key/calculator skills, or ability to read and write English, or ability to reason/problem solve, etc.):
Solid oral and written communication skills necessary to communicate monthly reports to site customer and Program office staff.

Physical demands up to 60 lbs to replace or repair a computer workstation or server.
