2. MEDICAL DEVICE QUALITY ENGINEER (Evansville, IN)
This is a contract position and pay will be based on relevant experience. Qualified candidates can interview and start immediately.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Candidate will participate on the product development team and will independently demonstrate, through testing, that the design, development, and documentation activities related to new product development are consistent with internal procedures, FDA guidelines, and international standards. Candidate is responsible for planning and scheduling system testing/analysis/review activities, writing test protocols, executing software and system testing, and providing documentation for all verification and validation activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Provides quality engineering guidance to product development teams throughout the product development process to ensure compliance to the required deliverables, resulting in the development of safe and effective medical devices.
• Create new, or modify existing testing plans to ensure compliance to internal and customer requirements, the FDA Quality System Regulation and the Medical Device Directive.
• Support the planning, review and implementation of Risk Management processes and documents.
• Ensure that design and development and lifecycle maintenance of medical devices are compliant with product development and risk management procedures.
• Provide expertise regarding software testing methods, techniques, and tools in order to develop testing procedures appropriate for medical device software development and manufacturing. This will include selecting appropriate manual, scripted, or automated solutions to conduct testing.
• Execute the verification and validation testing of software, embedded firmware, and hardware used in electromechanical and disposable medical devices to ensure rigorous product testing. Where appropriate, this will include tests for functional safety, system level integration, mechanical operation, environmental conditions, reliability, performance/load, failure modes and usability.
• Provide quality engineering support for manufacturing, such as problem resolution, product and process improvements and document development.
• Review and approved Engineering Change Notices for products in manufacturing.
• Perform process FMEA’s and qualifications.
• Support the supplier management process including selection, approval and problem resolution to ensure components delivered meet specifications.
• Participate in the identification and maintenance of appropriate metrics to assess the effectiveness of the manufacturing processes and the quality system.
• Design and implement quality control process sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques.
• Ensure continuous compliance for packaging integrity and label control and compliance.
• Serves as quality representative for various product improvement and compliance related activities, including CAPAs, nonconformities, resolution of complaints, etc.
• Ensure all input documents, protocols, and test reports for verification and validation processes are compliant to domestic and international regulatory agencies.
• Prepare formal verification and validation test reports.
• Process excellent written, persuasion and consensus building, listening and verbal communications skills.
• Demonstrate customer focus, cross-functional collaboration/teamwork skills, continuous improvement and innovation, and sound judgment.
• Analyzes data from various sources including Non-Conformances, Medical Device Reports, Complaints, etc. to drive decision-making and effective /preventive actions.
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Knowledge of GMP, GDP and GAMP5.
• Knowledge and understanding of FDA CFRs, ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971.
• Thorough knowledge of regulatory experience with UL and IEC standards.
• Process Validation techniques such as SPC, DOE, Pareto Charts, etc.
• Familiarity with FMEA’s, root cause analysis tools and process capability.
• Experience with PC software including Microsoft Office products
• Proficiency in preparing formal technical reports is required
• Experience with Solid Works CAD application
• Demonstrated ability to work independently
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific field required
• Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering desirable

This is a great opportunity for our Paras. If accepted, they will receive a tuition stipend to complete their bachelor's degree. In addition to the stipend they will be getting valuable experience in the teaching profession. There is no cost to a school district and they get a highly qualified Math, Science, or SPED teacher. Everyone wins.

We are opening the districts from those listed on the flyer and we are opening it to individuals without military experience. We are going to be more inclusive but our goal is to reach the underserved communities as much as possible. Preparation Program
Program Overview
The Para to Teacher Preparation Program (PTPP) is a cooperative partnership between the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (UCCS), Mountain West Troops to Teachers, and four high-need local education agencies (LEAs) including, Edison School 54JT, Miami-Yoder 60 JT, Harrison 2 and Fountain/Fort Carson 8. The purpose of the PTPP is to enable highly qualified paraprofessionals to become licensed teachers in high need subject areas including math, science and special education.
Benefits and Services
Each student accepted into the PTPP will receive:

A full tuition stipend to complete a bachelor’s degree at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs

o The tuition stipend is in addition to any funding received through the GI Bill, Post 9-11 GI Bill, tuition assistance or vocational rehabilitation allowing eligible military members to use Department of Defense funds for living expenses.

A mentor teacher to assist with professional development

Continued counseling and up to $10,000 financial support through Mountain West Troops to Teachers

Job placement assistance for participants not currently working as paraprofessionals

Minimum of 60 semester hours from a regional accredited college or university

At least four years of military service
