Work directly with active duty Marine Clinical Psychologists; design and procure standardized psychological testing material for the screening process of candidates applying to Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC); evaluate candidates to determine their potential for service in MARSOC; make written recommendations to the Officer in Charge (OIC)/Staff Non-commissioned Officer in Charge (SNCOIC) concerning a potential candidate's suitability and chances for success; assist in the refinement and implementation of scenarios and events from a psychological perspective; evaluate candidate performance during the conduct of events and scenarios from a psychological perspective; make written recommendations concerning a candidate's suitability as relates to potential service with MARSOC; assist the OIC/SNCOIC in presentation of candidate performance as it relates to their mental ability and mental state during the board phase of the assessment course; provide any pertinent after action points to the OIC/SNCOIC in the form of input to the consolidated After Action Report (AAR) following each course.


Required attributes:

Preferred attributes:

The Network Security Engineer will design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise boundary security solutions. He/she is expected to interface with peers and officials in the national intelligence community, DoD, and industry to discuss and report on specific aspects of network security and information sharing to support the development of security solutions, policies, and/or procedures regarding network security issues.



Functional Responsibilities:

Works independently to provide information security direction and consultation in support of complex Information Technology (IT) projects. Reviews client IT security procedures, strategies and standards and identifies specific areas of vulnerability. Using Industry tools likes Retina, ISS, etc. Analyzes vulnerabilities and recommends procedural and/or IT infrastructure improvements. Supports Certification and Accreditation (C&A) efforts. Remains current on, and analyzes industry-wide trends, laws, and standards related to IT security and recommends methods, procedures, and products to solve information security problems. Develops verification procedures for executing risk assessments and security test and evaluations, and conducts risk assessments to ensure that systems are operating securely. Regularly interacts with stakeholders to ensure a compliant, stable, and effective IT security posture is maintained.



Other Requirements:

• Serves as the SME in developing complex technical IT security solutions for projects to include enterprise solutions, system and subsystem solutions, product selection/evaluations, and system interfaces.

• Analyzes network traffic using a variety of network tools to assess security-related events and develops solutions accordingly.

• Provides technical and systems consultation to internal clients and leadership to ensure conformity with directed guidance.

• Helps develop security-related development processes including technical documentation standards, patching guidelines, QA processes, deployment procedures and configuration management

• Ensures compliance with applicable DISA stigs. Reviews Security Logs

• Ensures that the computing environment are kept current with service and software update releases, and evaluate security assessment tools for selection and integration into these environments

• Has ability to work in high pressure, highly flexible environment against both short and long term requirements

• Provides after hours support when necessary

• Willing to travel. Travel may be required in hazardous environments.





Education/Experience Required:

• The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a technical field (e.g., management information systems, computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, etc.). An Associate's Degree in a technical field, with related experience may be acceptable in lieu of a 4 yr degree. Previous military background in Information Technology field may also substitute for 4 year degree.

• Must have solid experience and knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems

• Minimum of 8 years specialized experience with designing or administering secure network architectures, identity and access management principles, application security, encryption technologies, DNS, database and web applications.


• Deep understanding of Ingress/Egress filtering on Firewall devices

Qualifications and Evaluations
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Specialized Experience Requirements: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. For GS-11 grade level, at least 1 year specialized experience must have been at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level.
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience for this position is described as experience in building forecasting and staffing models utilizing forecasting and scheduling software and performing manpower/workload studies in a high volume call center environment. Also, applicant must have experience analyzing, evaluating, monitoring, and recommending staffing and scheduling selections based on projected requirements and staff availability.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:
Education obtained in an accredited college or university may be substituted for specialized experience requirements for positions at GS-11. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work being advertised.

Calms agitated individuals or defuses hostile situations through conflict resolution skills whenever reasonably possible. Addresses imminently threatening or potentially dangerous individuals and notifies police or other authority when unable to control a situation. Prepares daily report of activities, including abnormal incidents (property damage, hostile/suspicious individuals, etc.) and infrastructure security issues (unlocked doors, non-functioning light fixtures that create an unsafe environment, etc.). Employee will be using metal detectors and wands to screen individuals. Employee is required to wear a security uniform.

Testing Requirements:

Auxiliary Operator Test (AOT):

Education/Experience:
