Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Distributed Common Ground System- Army (DCGS-A) Field Service Representative (FSR) serves as a member of a globally distributed team that fields, repairs, integrates, and maintains client and server systems for the DCGS-A Programs. DCGS-A systems are a diverse mix of software and hardware solutions designed to meet challenging intelligence processing, exploitation, and dissemination requirements for the Army at war. DCGS-A features unique data scalability requirements and allows for a flexible system evolution.

Engineers working on the program are required to solve hardware and software challenges across three different fielded hardware and software baselines. The engineer will identify server and client hardware and software faults, create solutions, and then test solutions in often demanding field environments with little or no remote support. The DCGS-A FSE will interact with a wide variety of systems implementations on a single customer site, including Virtualized Machines (VMs) running on a variety of different hardware platforms.

The successful candidate will have extensive software, hardware, and network troubleshooting experience. The candidate will able to install, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux- based operating systems and software on client and server machines. Candidate will have project engineering experience and familiarity with remote system administration software, networking principles.

The successful candidate will be the single FSR support for the DCGS-A mission of the Parks Reserve Forces Training Area (Camp Parks). Camp Parks has a primary mission of exercising the functions of command, training, security, administration, servicing and supply to all troop units, military activities, and other governmental agencies assigned or attached. Camp Park’s area of responsibilities includes providing services and training support to military units (active and reserve) and to other requesting organizations and activities.

Reserve units permanently stationed there conduct weekend inactive duty training throughout the year, and reserve component units travel to the Dublin-Livermore-Pleasanton Valley (Tri- Valley) of Northern California for their two-week annual training. The 91st Division constructed and opened a new Battle Projection Center, and a beautiful facility as their Division Headquarters.

The successful candidate will also have exceptional oral and written communications skills and ability to work independently, with minimum direction; creative problem solver able to quickly devise, test, and implement solutions, and a self-motivated and results-focused mindset is a must.

Workload Distribution

60% of time spent solving hardware/ software challenges (creating software scripts, integrating the system components, and performing GIS or DBA technical support)

25% of time working through installation procedures

10% of time solving hardware/networking issues

5% of time coordinating and arranging necessary customer support

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or Associates degree in Computer Science preferred. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 5+ years of experience in information technology operations or system repair required. Additional technical certification preferred (A+, CCNA, RHCE, MCSA / E, Networks+).

Desired Skills

Experience with bare metal systems building and preparation.

Experience with tactical systems and a network environment is preferred.

Provides senior level technical support for customer/company network systems. Performs complex systems installations and maintenance, tests, repairs and troubleshoots network equipment problems. Performs work, which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of standard materials, and difficult coordination requirements. Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Responsible for implementation of training to US forces at selected military installations CONUS and on occasion, OCONUS locations.

Will participate, review and implement training curriculum and course materials in support of DoD PD Biometrics, Tactical Biometrics Systems. The Program Integrator will review and provide input and updates to instructor materials (course outline, background material, leave behind instructional materials, and training aids).

This individual may also prepare student materials (course manuals, workbooks, handouts, completion certificates, and course critique forms). In addition, the Program Integrator will train US military personnel, and as required coalition forces by using the “crawl, walk, run” training concept. Training forums will be conducted in formal classrooms; field training exercises (FTX’s); workshops and seminar type settings at CONUS military installations.

Responsible for collecting and reviewing after action reviews (AAR’s) which be utilized to update training methods to meet current warfighter needs. Must be able to assess training requirements, identify and evaluate training alternatives, develop training materials to include a variety of training approaches, such as: traditional classroom programmed learning, hands-on, simulation, video, audio, and computer aided training. The Program Integrator must be able to continually work to improve the training curriculum by incorporating feedback and lessons learned from CONUS/OCONUS military and contractor personnel.

The Program Integrator must be able to articulate the benefits of embracing the use of biometrics systems as a Force Protection Asset. Provide AAR’s to senior level personnel and collaborate with outside entities when necessary.

Furthermore, the Program Integrator will supervise subordinate Trainers in support of Home Station Training.

Accountabilities (expectations): Held accountable for all activities concerning biometric systems training.
Build partnerships with customers that will ensure a high level of customer satisfaction; as well as foster new relationships with other potential biometric end-users within the government.
Ensure the HST’s understand and execute all customer requirements in line with PWS and TEP. Follow the guidance of the Program Manager or assigned supervisor.
Execute missions within the program’s budget and travel policy.

Job Summary
Responsible for ensuring that aircraft operated are maintained within required specifications and are airworthy before operation.

Principal Accountabilities
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of maintenance personnel and maintenance actions performed, inspects aircraft equipment condition for safety, and ensures compliance with technical directives. Reviews aircraft historical records, log book entries, test measurement and diagnostic equipment, Army Oil Analysis Program (AOAP) Air Wing Information System (AWIS) and weight and balance for accuracy and compliance. Advises maintenance personnel in the use of technical data to troubleshoot, repair, or replace malfunctioning systems. Verifies proper procedures, tools and technical data are used while conducting maintenance. The Distributed Common Ground System-Army (DCGS-A) Field Service Representative (FSR) serves as a member of a globally distributed team that fields, repairs, integrates, and maintains client and server systems for the DCGS-A Programs. DCGS-A systems are a diverse mix of software and hardware solutions designed to meet challenging intelligence processing, exploitation, and dissemination requirements for the Army at war. DCGS-A features unique data scalability requirements and allows for a flexible system evolution.

Engineers working on the program are required to solve hardware and software challenges across three different fielded hardware and software baselines. The engineer will identify server and client hardware and software faults, create solutions, and then test solutions in often demanding field environments with little or no remote support. The DCGS-A FSE will interact with a wide variety of systems implementations on a single customer site, including Virtualized Machines (VMs) running on a variety of different hardware platforms.

The successful candidate will have extensive software, hardware, and network troubleshooting experience. The candidate will able to install, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux-based operating systems and software on client and server machines. Candidate will have project engineering experience and familiarity with remote system administration software, networking principles. They will also have exceptional oral and written communications skills and ability to work independently, with minimum direction; creative problem solver able to quickly devise, test, and implement solutions, and a self-motivated and results-focused mindset is a must.

Workload Distribution:
60% of time spent solving hardware/software challenges (creating software scripts, integrating the system components, and performing GIS or DBA technical support)
25% of time working through installation procedures
10% of time solving hardware/networking issues
5% of time coordinating and arranging necessary customer support

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or Associates degree in Computer Science preferred.
