Main Duties:

This position is located in Department of Homeland Security, (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency, (FEMA), Region VIII, Hazard Mitigation Division. The incumbent will serve as the key advisor to the HMA Branch Chief and the Mitigation Division Director for managing and implementation of the FEMA mitigation grant programs and as a liaison to state counterparts.
• Serves as the senior mitigation specialist for program implementation of hazard mitigation programs, to include: Hazard Mitigation Grant program, Flood Mitigation Assistance, pre-Disaster Mitigation program, repetitive Flood Claims programs, Sever Repetitive Loss program, State and local hazard mitigation planning per 44 CFR 201; and mitigation under Section 406 of the Stafford Act for repair of public facilities.
• Ensures technical assistance to States, sub-applicants, and sub-grantees in the identification and selection of projects in the development of accurate, well documented and compliant project sub-applications in resolving project review comments and in administration of mitigation of grant programs.
• Monitors the status and performance of grants awarded to the Region VIII states including financial tracking, funds management, data entry into the grants databases, and timely close-out of sub-grants and overall grant awards.
• Provides technical assistance to States regarding development of Management Cost sub-applications for all mitigation grant programs and updating of State administrative Plans.

In this position you will become a key member of the Mitigation Division. You will help implement mitigation grant programs and liaison with state counterparts. This position has promotion potential to the GS-12. Typical work assignments at the full performance level include:

This position is part of the maintenance leadership team and has overall responsibility for mill-wide electrical and instrumentation maintenance. The successful candidate will provide leadership to drive out repetitive maintenance problems, reduce maintenance cost, and improve equipment reliability.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
