This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. This mechanic performs 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, examines reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, such as sticking or burnt valves, inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments. Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction. Work involves: replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Contractors designated safety representatives shall conduct safety inspections of the jobsite and public areas contiguous and adjacent thereto and take necessary and timely corrective actions to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions; . Establish and implement a safety-training program for supervisors and employees as applicable to their specific jobs and assist in weekly toolbox safety meetings; . Attend meetings and conferences required by project, and other organizations considered advantageous to the company's interest; . Collect reports required for records and evaluations of performance of Safety and Accident Prevention Programs; . Review foreman accident investigation reports as required to assure timely submission and to initiate corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence; . Conduct accident investigations and preparation of required forms; . Insure all employees receive medical treatment for all injuries, and a written los will be kept in the jobsite safety office; . Ensure that all sub-contractors employees comply with jobsite safety rules and regulations. . Conduct Training to ensure compliance with the Company Training Program and OSHA Requirements: . HS Diploma or GED Required. . Physical and Drug Screening. . Background Check. . Metro Link Experience . OSHA 510 & 500 . Knowledge of Cal OSHA Requirements .
