About the position

IDS is seeking two candidates with advanced degrees in Geospatial disciplines or computer science to support NATO's Joint Warfare Center in Stavanger, Norway. The Joint Warfare Center supports Allied Command Operations and Allied Command Transformation's goal of producing new and sustaining current training exercises for NATO. In this case, the candidates will support the development of digital geospatial information systems and products for NATO.
Responsibilities
• Manages, maintains and ensures the availability of NATO exercise Digital Geospatial Information (DGI).
• Prepares DGI to current NATO standards including metadata definition, data import and export and DGI quality control.
• Manages the interface between the current JWC Geospatial system and JWC Communication Information Systems including the provision of DGI in support of Functional Area Systems (FAS) and advice to FAS managers.
• Develops and manages web based geospatial services.
• Provides advice to JWC on DGI management practices, new technology and changes in information requirements.
• Technical lead for all aspects of geospatial data content and management, including the development of bespoke JWC geo based applications.
• Contributes to JWC input to the Joint Geospatial Standards Working Group (JGSWG) and related NATO DGI Management committees and working groups.
• JWC technical lead in the implementation and updates of software applications that impact on the current JWC Geospatial system.
• Contributes to the development of concepts, policies and documents that relate to JWC geospatial support, GIS and DGI.
Qualifications
Scenario Developer personnel must have the following:
• University Degree or Post Graduate Diploma in a geospatial discipline, computer science or related subject.
• Advanced knowledge of NATO GIS desktop software and its operation, including Python scripting.
• Advanced knowledge of configuring, managing and operating NATO GIS servers, web services and applications (Web based geo viewer APIs).
• Programming experience on web server and client applications.

6. Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) Academic Instructor - Fort Bragg, NC
RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as a JSOC Academic Instructor at Fort Bragg, NC. Educates, coordinates, and develops lesson plans and curriculum on a wide variety of subjects covering the scope of Joint SOF Operational academic support within the scope of the requirements for the J7 Education Division.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree with related military experience or other related field of study or 15 years of equivalent experience. Academic/Instructor experience, either military or civilian, with any instructor certifications is highly desired.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Qualified candidates must possess a solid understanding of National/USSOCOM policies and procedures related to SOF employment and a comprehensive understanding of Joint SOF doctrine, strategic and operational level Joint SOF operations, and Joint SOF tactics, techniques and procedures. Knowledge of and credibility within JSOC and subordinate organizations and the Interagency and experience with and comprehensive understanding of USSOCOM, its components, Geographic Combatant Commands and Theater Special Operations Commands is highly desired. Previous JSOC staff experience is highly desired. Qualified candidates must have experience with public speaking and possess the requisite skills and experience to instruct both small and large audiences and capable to instruct/facilitate multi-service DOD, Interagency, and International student courses.
Candidates must understand policies and procedures to develop lesson plans and exercises and analyze recent/historical operations for course discussions.

• Possess advanced management and organizational skills;
• Have a basic understanding and experience using operational products to incorporate into lesson plans;
• Have very good oral and written skills to prepare and present academic material or facilitate Senior Leader Seminars to senior officers and their staffs;
• Assist in development of lessons, requirements and documentation for use by the Education Division staff;
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office products and SharePoint;

Best candidate will have previous and recent JSOC staff experience, previous platform instructor time, and a comprehensive awareness and understanding of the operational plans, contingency operations, crisis action planning and the Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES).

High school diploma or equivalent training/experience and a valid driver’s license. Five (5) years actual and recent vehicle or related weapons system experience desired; three (3) years required. Support to Planning Detention Operations
• Assist the lead officer in deliberate planning, coordination, and drafting of operations orders and instructions required to inform all appropriate USSOUTHCOM staff and assigned units in the movement of detainees from JTF-GTMO to other Combatant Commands or foreign governments, as directed by the Joint Staff
• Coordinate with Joint Staff, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, associated Combatant Command staffs, USSOUTHCOM components and assigned units upon receipt of instructions, in order to draft the necessary written instructions needed to guide the personnel involved in the mission.
• Prepare and disseminate messages, briefings and information papers for each specific detainee transfer.
• Complete all work within the Standing Operating Procedure (SOP)-prescribed suspense (typically 3-5 days for these tasks) and in accordance with the instructions included in the 1334 Detention Operations SOP and Checklist.
SPECIFICALLY
The Select Candidate will:
• Apply a thorough understanding of Joint Planning Process (JP 5-0) and the Department of Defense Detainee Program (DODD 2310.0 IE) with applicable Joint Staff and USSOUTHCOM directives governing the movement of detainees (from custody at Naval Station Guantanamo, Cuba) in order to draft plans, directives, orders and instructions to USSOUTHCOM subordinates and to inform associated forces, and agencies.
• Upon receipt of Joint Staff or Office of Secretary of Defense notification, draft the warning order within the assigned suspense including the preliminary facts and provide instructions to USSOUTHCOM subordinate units for approval by the government lead (Deputy Branch Chief); provide all documents to the Deputy Branch Chief for review and approval.
• Draft notification memorandum to USSOUTHCOM key personnel identifying the key data provided by Joint Staff.
• Coordinate secure video teleconference with associated Commands, Agencies/Departments, and subordinate units.
• Draft the briefing or memorandum used to provide key stakeholders with detailed instructions to enable continuous planning and preparation to support an upcoming detainee transfer.
• Draft the execution order (EXORD) in Automated Message Handling System (AMHS) format providing final instructions to subordinate units with coordination measures to associated Commands, Departments/ Agencies, and submit to government lead (Deputy Branch Chief) for approval; provide all documents within the SOP-prescribed suspense.
• Draft fragmentary orders (FRAGO) in AMHS format to provide additional instructions to designated forces, staffs, and personnel; provide all documents within the SOP-prescribed suspense.
• Receive periodic situation reports (SITREP) and draft corresponding memorandums or briefings to update key USSOUTHCOM personnel on progress of planning, preparation and execution of the detainee transfer.
Intelligence and Operations Reporting
• Analyze and compile reports from a variety of automated systems, databases and sources used to respond to requests from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Office of Military Commissions, Joint Staff, and Periodic Review Secretariat to this Command with regard to detention operations, along with legal and administrative proceedings for detainees in JTF-GTMO custody.
• Access, retrieve, populate, maintain data through orderly filing and storage within this Command's primary databases used to safeguard detention operations information, as well as drafting and disseminating a variety of recurring and adhoc reports, briefings and information papers used to advise this program.
• Complete all work within the SOP¬ prescribed suspense (which is typically 10-20 days) , and in accordance with the instructions included in the 1334 Detention Operations SOP and Checklist.
SPECIFICALLY
The Select Candidate will:
• Access and draft periodic reports, consistent with requests from the Office of the Secretary of Defense or the Joint Staff and in accordance with the 1334 Checklist format, intended to advise changes in tactical-level reporting statistics used to track all facets of detention operations at JTF-GTMO.
• Draft responses for all requested information for detention operations information, submit to government lead (Deputy Branch Chief) for review, and disseminate upon approval; all work must be completed within the within the SOP-prescribed suspense.
• Compile, access, retrieve, and analyze reports - in accordance with format directed thru the governing authorities - used to respond to requests from the OMC, Joint Staff and PRS for support to legal and administrative proceedings regarding detainees in JTF-GTMO custody; prepare those reports within the SOP-prescribed suspense.
• Maintain orderly storage of files and information within the Command's databases (both classified and unclassified databases); access, receive and store all files used to record detention operations information established since 2002 within HQ USSOUTHCOM.
• Draft recurring and ad hoc detention operational reports, briefings and information papers that are used to advise this Command's leadership and key staff for current and upcoming operations.
• Submit reports to government lead (Deputy Branch Chief) for approval and disseminate as directed; all work must be completed within the SOP¬ prescribed suspense (which is normally 3-5 days).
REQUIREMENTS
• The select candidate must be a prior Military Field Grade Level Officer (O-4) or Above OR a Senior NCO (E-8) or Above - Required
• Must possess a Bachelor Degree with 4 to 6 years of direct experience providing support to Planning Detention Operations and Intelligence and Operations Reporting
• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously
• Demonstrated expert level of interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate effectively, convince, influence, advise, and respond to questions from DoD leadership, including senior decision makers

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a retired or former U.S. Army Special Forces Officer (18A), Major or Lieutenant Colonel, to serve as an In-Country Project Manager of a Security Assistance Team (SAT) that will provide tactical sustainment training for the 1st Iraqi Special Operations Force (ISOF) Brigade and subordinate units, staff sustainment training for the 1st ISOF Brigade and subordinate battalions, logistics and maintenance training for the maintenance facilities, and sustainment training for initial and advanced skill instructor cadre at the Academia Training Institution. This SAT is being provided as part of a Security Assistance Training Program that directly supports U.S. Foreign Policy and the execution of Department of Defense Security Cooperation Plans and Programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• As a SOF In-Country Project Manager, the candidate will lead a training team that will deploy to Baghdad, Iraq to provide instruction and training to Iraqi SOF personnel.
• The candidate will manage a SAT that will provide sustainment training to Iraqi SOF Operators to improve their capacity to deter, prevent, disrupt, capture, and prosecute known terrorists and terrorist organizations within Iraq.

Minimum Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
• High school diploma/equivalent and 1 year industrial experience in a demilitarization facility, chemical plant, nuclear or fossil power generating station, military, industrial service (e.g., secure facilities), or manufacturing
• Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment
• Heavy Truck experience and the ability to obtain and maintain a commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HazMat endorsement
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be a US or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain PCAPP site access
• Ability to operate forklift/forktruck or material handling lifting device
• Ability to exercise good judgment in performance of duties
• Demonstrated experience working in a procedurally compliant environment

Job Description:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES / TASKS
• Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
• Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
• May be required to work overtime or varying hours.
• Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.
• Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility.
• Drive Modified Ammunition Van (MAV) between chemical munitions storage area and PCAPP plant.
• Monitor and assist with moving Overpack Pallets into and out of MAV
• Move Overpack Pallets into storage magazines using forklift.
• Complete transfer of custody documentation
• In case of munitions leakage, operator must unload containers in MAV Vestibule while wearing Protective Clothing and Equipment.
• Operate material handling equipment and serve as spotter when necessary (i.e., electric vehicles, forklifts, pallet trucks and vans).
• Perform minor maintenance as required.
• Communicate with Control Room in case of problems or malfunctions.
• Prepare equipment for maintenance as required.
• Perform housekeeping duties as required.
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly RCRA inspections.
• Make exclusion area entries as necessary to perform duties as assigned.
• Operate minicams to verify munitions, containers and waste are agent-free.
• Physically handle chemical weapons to load into the automated destruction process.
