Major Duties The incumbent manages all frequencies that are authorized to the Forest Service for LMR systems use, interagency/local cooperator interoperability, aviation requirements and specialty needs requiring frequency spectrum. Software Application Proficiency The incumbent’s duties include effectively using specific software applications that support LMR design and frequency management. These applications are used to manage databases; develop reports and maps; create RF propagation studies; manage and research frequency spectrum. Duties include operating: RF propagation software for RF coverage studies and analysis, spectrum management software for RF analysis and spectrum management; topographical mapping software for analysis and report building; basic office software for database management and report building. Interagency Frequency Coordination The incumbent’s duties include the managing and coordination of frequencies with partner agencies in support of fire suppression and incident support.
