• NET will provide vehicle operations and maintenance training for the Internally Transportable Vehicle (ITV) and maintenance training for the Expeditionary Fire Support System (EFSS) mortar.

Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree in social work, business administration, public administration, psychology or related field and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant employment experience in the administration of a volunteer, non-profit or public service organization. Excellent oral and written communications skills; fiscal management skills; grant writing and resource development skills; and, public relations skills, are also required. Experience working with volunteers; an understanding of child abuse and neglect issues; and, the juvenile court system and related procedures, is preferred.

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Social Caseworker for a Child Protection Intake Unit at the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services.
As our Community Based Intake Caseworker for Buckley Air Force Base (Social Caseworker C), you will work closely with the military regarding cases involving child abuse/neglect within military families. You will coordinate all investigations and assessments with Family Advocacy at Buckley Air Force Base. The position also requires conducting institutional abuse/neglect investigations within the two Child Development Centers located on Buckley
Air Force Base.
This position requires a flexible schedule, a good working relationship the military and being able to understand the dynamics of these families to including deployments, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and domestic violence. You will be required to interface with the military system and understand the uniqueness of their culture. Position requires the clearance to receive a US Government Civilian Access Pass in order to gain access to military families living on base and for other on base activities. This position requires good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple agencies and areas of the military system. The position also requires the ability to work closely with military law enforcement including Security Forces and Office of Special Investigations. Knowledge of resources available to military families is helpful as well as the ability to consult with the military on matters that have not yet come to the attention of the Department. Position also requires providing training to civilians and active duty personnel on how to identify and report child abuse/neglect and
how to work with our Department.
Duties:
Our social caseworkers conduct investigations of alleged child abuse and neglect; determines if situations warrant the recommendation of placing children outside the home; supervises placement of children and coordinates parent/child visits; determines when and if a child should be recommended to return to their home.
Makes evaluation and assessment of need for services; provides crisis intake and/or develops long-term case plans appropriate to the child(ren) and family. Monitors progress of clients and modifies case plans as needed.
Provides individual or family counseling on an ongoing or crisis basis to children and their parents who are experiencing severe problems in the parents-child relationships.
Makes collateral contacts with such community resources as law enforcement and medical personnel to obtain addition information, coordinate services, or secure their assistance.
Gathers and consolidates background information to present as documentation for court hearings, as progress reports in judicial reviews, or as summaries in facilitating appropriate placements.
Participates in staffing with school, mental health facilities, child protection review teams, and other professionals involved with the family members.
Attends court hearings; confers with lawyers, children, parents, witnesses and significant others in references to their respective roles.
Serves as information and referral source to other employees and to the public.
Provides as variety of ancillary assignments as needed including preparing and maintaining client records and completing required forms and reports.
