We are recruiting Manual Machinists. Founded in 1978 and still owned and run by our founder, we are
unique machine shop, performing on-site machining using portable machine tools. We work at power
plants, steel mills, aluminum refineries, extrusion plants, and heavy industrial facilities of all types.
We are looking for individuals that have at least FIVE years of expertise with manual lathes and mills.
Here are some checklist questions a successful candidate must answer "yes" to in order to apply: I can
single point thread on a manual lathe. I frequently use a steady rest. I have run a horizontal bar. I can
travel when necessary, during the busy Spring and Fall power plant outage seasons. All travel expenses
are paid by the company, including a daily cash meal allowance, leased vehicle, private hotel room,
airline tickets, etc . . . When we are in the field we work 7-12's, so you have the opportunity to earn 40
hours of straight time, 32 hours of time and one half, and 12 hours of double time, per week you are in the
field. In the shop, you will typically work only M-F, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
We do not hire machine operators--only master manual machinists. Candidates with strong manual
machining skills who believe they are capable of making a simple single point thread test piece on a

This position is ideal for a person who desires to disseminate emergency management information to the media and general public that relates the the agency's National Flood Insurance Program and in particular Risk MAP. This position is being announced at the GS-12 level with a salary of 71,901. In this position, you will ensure effective and efficient delivery and program management of the Public Assistance and Fire Management Assistance programs, When delegated, you will also direct the the implementation of the Public Assistance and Fire Management program, and provide leadership in and serve as coordinator for various specialty areas and/or in the various program areas. Responsibilities can typically consists of undertaking several complex projects at the same time, while meeting prescribed task time limits and project deadlines. Typical work assignments include:
• Under the supervision of the Branch Chief, the incumbent manages various public assistance components of the organization required for rapid Federal response to Presidentially declared major disasters and emergencies under the provision of Public Law 93-288, to provide assistance to the affected States, local governments, Indian Tribes and certain private non-profit organizations. These components include, but are not limited to regional incident management teams, disaster damage assessment teams, technical assistance, public assistance field offices, and other operational elements as directed.
• When delegated, serves in various management and oversight roles in the administration, coordination, and delivery of disaster assistance operations.
• Analyze information relative to the public sector on developing situations in order to determine potential for gubernatorial request for Presidential declaration of an emergency or major disaster. When delegated, directs the operations of the public assistance elements of the integrated Federal, State, local and Tribal, damage assessment teams, collating and evaluating the resultant findings to determine the impact of the incident on public facilities, structures and systems; provides input to the analysis, summary and recommendations of the incident based on the combined damage assessment for the Regional Administrator's approval.

Coordinating temporary utility and communication hook-ups for contractor, lay-down area and storage areas, utility outages and road closures, excavation, hot work, burn and other construction-related permits.
Acting as main point of contact for daily interface/coordination in the field and assisting with coordination of warranty work, investigation of potential latent defects, installing cores, key facility, and coordinating facility system training for owner/occupants.
For both design-bid-build and design-build projects, reviewing pre-final contract drawings and specifications and performing on-site visits to review constructability and compatibility with actual field conditions.
During design development and constructability review, provide technical knowledge of local conditions including availability of construction materials and skilled labor. For problems found, make solution recommendations for designer consideration.
Supporting the review/approval of all government approved technical and administrative submittals including but not limited to the schedule of prices, contractor's base line critical path schedule, accident prevention plan, activity hazard analyses, safety and health plan, quality control plan, test plans/reports, performance verification tests of major systems, etc.

Arranging and coordinating pre-final and final acceptance inspections, tracking completion of punch list items and supporting the close-out.
Performing worksite safety assessments, coordinating OSHA jobsite visits, reporting of contractor significant incidences/near misses, mishap investigations and the preparation of the report.
Providing overall coordination of the construction quality management program and maintaining working knowledge of the requirements set forth in NAVFAC BMS as

POSITION SUMMARY
The Systems Analyst is responsible for analysis of system issues based on
continuous testing of user-facing applications to ensure minimal downtime.
The analyst will follow standard testing procedures on a daily basis to
ensure that systems work as intended and to modify the procedures as needed
based on new system features or for general improvement. Testing will
include, but is not limited to, usage of system functions from a user point
of view, verification that data in the system is synchronized and updated,

an experienced Civil / Structural CAD Designer in our Sylmar, CA office.
Qualifications:
. Must be able to prepare site layout drawings: general arrangements,
structural details, installation plans, shop & building drawings, etc with
ground support (cofferdams, sheeting/shoring, secant pile, etc)
. Tunnel equipment layout experience a plus
. Must be able to check drawings for dimensions & spelling errors
. Interacts with shop, job sites, and vendors during drawing
preparation to ensure constructability
. Perform material quantity estimates and material orders
. Inspects existing equipment and structures as well as on-going
projects to insure quality and correctness of work
. Meets assigned project schedules by working required overtime as
directed
. Makes frequent trips to on-site shop
Requirements
. A.S. degree in related area or equivalent training
. 5-10 years' experience in a similar position
. Competency with AutoCAD
. Strong written and verbal communication skills
. Strong organizational skills

This info was in our latest Volunteer News from Laurie Switzer (Volunteer
Director/Coordinator) on the Midway. I am certain there is a
Retiring/Separating Officer or Senior Enlisted with these qualifications out
there.
1. BOBBY is RETIRING
Bobby Reyes, our Air wing Director will be retiring at the end of July. We
are very sad to see him go, but wish him well in all his future endeavors.
The museum is now looking for his replacement.
This position- oversees the USS Midway Museum's Aircraft and Ground Support
Equipment Restoration program, ensuring the aircraft and equipment are
restored and maintained to the highest degree of museum exhibit quality.
This position is also responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating
all aircraft and equipment logistic movements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
* Four year degree in Aviation Management or Project Management or related
field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Five years professional management experience in aviation maintenance
and/or restoration.
* Management experience to include supervising staff and/or volunteers.
* Experience with planning and maintaining department budgets.
